CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED
RESOLUTION N0. 81-121
BY THE MAYOR AND THF ENTIRE COUNCIL
A RESOLUTION COMMENDING THE PUBLIC
SERVTCE OF DONALD G. LEDVINA, PLANNING
COMMISSION MEMBER AND BOARD OF ZONING
APPE/1LS MEMBFR.
WHEREAS, the members of Council, the Mayor and the Administration
of the City of North Olmsted wish to commend DONALD G. LEDVINA, past
member of the Planning Commission and Board of Zoning Appeals, by
setting forth his record of public service from November, 1968 through
August, 1981:
DONALD G. LEDVINA served the citizens of the City
of North Olmsted as a member of t}te Planning Commission
from November 6, 1968, to November 27, 1973. During
this time Mr. Ledvina served with distinction assisting
in the planning of the City at a time of unprecedented
growth. fle assumed an activist role contributing
greatly to the planning of many of our subdivisions.
Mr. Ledvina had a near perfect attendance record
during those years. His leadeiship was such that
his fellow members of the t3oard elected him Chairman.
In November of 1973, DONALD G. LEDVINA resigned from
the Planning Commission and accepted an appointment
to the Board of Zoning A,ppeals. With his background
in planning, his presence on the Board of Zoning Appeals
was immediately felt. He was responsible for instituting
a program of having Board mombers view the property,
which was the subject of an appeal, priar to the meeting.
As Chairman of the Board, he ran the meeting in a relaxed
atmosphere spiced with humor. During the years that he
served on the Board he became completely familiar with
the Zoning Code. On his own initiative he developed
Zoning Code changes with respect to fences, accessory
buildings, lot lines and sign regulations, which changes
were recommended to Council and the Planning Commission,
and finally adopted.
During his tenure on the Board he had near perfect
attendance. This was so even though he was a Certified
Public Accountant in private practice with the press of
private business. He accepted the job and never let the
City down.
DONALD G. LEDVINA will be truly missed. He has left
his mark and the City is better off today because of
his dedication and resolve to do the bESt job possible
when asked to meet the challenge.
For all of the reasons stated herein:
NOW, THi:iZEFORT:, BE IT RESOLVED BY TfIE COUNCTL OF THF. CITY
OP NORT}I OLMS'1'i:ll, COUNTY OF CUYAHOGA AND S`I'ATF OF OHTO:
51:c:TION 1: That the Council of the City of North Olmsted,
pcrsonally an? collectively, and on behalf of the Mavor, the
Administration and all residents of the City, honors the public
service of DONAI,D G. LEDVINA and extends its debt of gratitude
to him.
