<br />CITY OF °~^'_?TH OLMSTED <br />ORDINr~:~:': *10, 89- 73 <br />By: MAYOR PE~RIGAC <br />AN ORDINANCE APPROVING AND ACCEPTING A <br />COLLDCTIVE BARGAINING AGREEi~T1T WITH OHIO <br />COUNCIL 8 AND LOCAL N0. 2681 OF AMERICAN <br />FIDERATION OF STATE, COUNTY AND MUNICIPAL <br />EMPLOYEES COVERING SERVICE AND WASTEWATER <br />TREATMENT EMPLOYEES AND DIRECTING THE MAYOR TO <br />ENTER INTO SAID AGREFMFN'r AND DECLARING AN <br />EMERGENCY. <br />WHEREAS, the Administration has bargained with Ohio Council 8 and <br />Local No. 2681 of American Federation of State, County and Municipal <br />Employees covering Service and Wastewater Treatment Employees in an <br />effort to reach an amicable settlement between said LTnion and the City; <br />and <br />WI-~REAS, said agreement has been finalized and put in writing, a <br />copy of which agreement is attached hereto and made a part hereof and <br />marked Exhibit A; and <br />WHEREAS, this Council hereby approves the wage and benefit package <br />established therein and desires to have the same formalized. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINID BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />NORTH OLMSTED, CUYAHOGA COUNTY AND STATE OF OHIO: <br />SECTION 1: That the Mayor be and she is hereby authorized and <br />directed to enter into a Collective Bargaining Agreement with Ohio <br />Council 8 and Local No. 2681 of American Federation of State, County and <br />Municipal bnployees, covering Service and Wastewater Treatment <br />Employees, a copy of which is attached hereto and made a part hereof and <br />marked Exhibit A. <br />SECTION 2: That any ordinance, parts of ordinances or other <br />agreements inconsistent herewith are hereby specifically repealed. <br />SECTION 3: That this ordinance is hereby declared to be an <br />emergency measure immediately necessary for the preservation of the <br />public health, safety, and welfare and for the further reason that it is <br />immediately necessary to provide for the continuity of services within <br />the City and further provided it receives the affirmative vote of two- <br />thirds of all members elected to Council, it shall take effect and be in <br />force immediately upon its passage and approval by the Mayor. <br />
