CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />RESOLUTION NO. 89-62 <br />A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE DIRECTOR OF PUBLIC SERVICE <br />TO ADVERTISE FOR BIDS FOR A SEWER JET TO BE USED FOR STORM <br />SEWER AND CATCH BASIN CLEANING, AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. <br />WHEREAS, it has come to the attention of the Director of Public Service <br />that there is available on the open market, a sewer jet cleaner, which is a <br />used unit; and <br />WHEREAS, although it is the desire of the City of North Olmsted to <br />purchase a used unit at considerable cost savings, it is also the desire of <br />the City Council to have the Director of Public Service advertise for <br />either a new or used unit to determine whether ar not there are other <br />competitive bidders in the marketplace who would be willing to meet the <br />terms of the purchase of the equipment on a used basis; and <br />WHEREAS, it is the desire of this Council to authorize the Director of <br />Public Service to advertise for bids for a sewer jet. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NORTH <br />OLMSTED, COUNTY OF CUYAHOGA AND STATE OF OHIO: <br />SECTION 1: That the Director of Public Service be and he is hereby <br />authorized to advertise for bids for sewer jet vac equipment for use in the <br />cleaning of storm sewers and catch basins, which equipment may be either <br />new or used, but shall be in accordance with the specifications now on file <br />in the office of the Director of Public Service, and that upon the <br />approval of the Board of Control, the Mayor is hereby authorized to enter <br />into a contract and execute same on behalf of the City of North Olmsted. <br />SECTION 2: That this Resolution is hereby declared to be an emergency <br />measure immediately necessary for the preservation of the public health, <br />safety and welfare and for the further reason that it is immediately <br />necessary to implement a program of storm sewer maintenance to control <br />flooding, and further provided it receives the affirmative vote of two- <br />thirds of all members elected to Council, it shall take effect and be in <br />force immediately upon its passage and apprval by the Mayor. <br />PASSED: <br />ATTEST: <br />~~~ <br />LORENCE E.
