CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />RESOLUTION N0. 89-45 <br />BY THE MAYOR AND THE ENTIRE COUNCIL <br />A RESOLUTION COMMENDING <br />LIEUTENANT THOMAS E. WESTON <br />ON THE OCCASION OF HIS RETIREMENT <br />WHEREAS: The Council of the City of North Olmsted has been <br />apprised that LT. THOMAS E. WESTON is retiring from the North <br />Olmsted Police Department after serving for twenty-one years; and <br />WHEREAS: LIEUTENANT WESTON was appointed as Patrolman on <br />February 16, 1968, and served the City until his retirement on <br />May 5, 1989; and <br />WHEREAS: LIEUTENANT WESTON graduated from the 112th Session <br />of the FBI National Academy in Washington, D. C., attended the <br />Suburban Police School at Case Western Reserve University in <br />Cleveland and the Ohio Breathalyzer Operator Training School in <br />Columbus, the Drug Enforcement Administration Training School in <br />Washington, D. C., and the Ohio State Highway Patrol's <br />Management & Administrative Skills Development Course in <br />Columbus; and <br />WHEREAS: LIEUTENANT WESTON has also enriched the NOPD's <br />body of knowledge through his attendance at many seminars, <br />including Sex Offenders & Offenses, Burglary Investigation, Human <br />Relations for Police in Law Enforcement, Homicide, Hostage, <br />Improving Productivity, Noise Control Enforcement, and Suicide <br />Prevention; and <br />WHEREAS: LIEUTENANT WESTON has served the NOPD in many <br />different capacities, as a member of the Detective Division <br />(transferred January 1, 1973) Sergeant, Uniform Patrol Division <br />(promoted January 1, 1976j; Sergeant, Detective Division <br />(transferred March 1, 1983); OIC - Uniform Patrol Division <br />(transferred September 17, 1984); and on January 2, 1985, <br />promoted to lieutenant; and <br />WHEREAS: LIEUTENANT WESTON's file contains many letters of <br />commendation, including one from the FBI for his work on a <br />National City Bank robbery on September 17, 1973, and one from <br />Prosecuting Attorney John T. Corrigan for his leadership in an <br />investigation of persons suspected of breaking into many homes; <br />and <br />WHEREAS: LIEUTENANT WESTON, as a member of the North <br />Olmsted Police Department, exhibited enthusiasm, dedication, <br />leadership and professionalism in law enforcement, and his <br />presence will be missed: <br />
