CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />RESOLUTION N0. 89-91 <br />BY THE MAYOR AND THE ENTIRE COUNCIL <br />A RESOLUTION SUPPORTING THE ANNUAL SALE <br />OF "BUDDY POPPIES" BY THE VETERANS OF <br />FOREIGN WARS OF THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA. <br />WHEREAS, the annual sale of "Buddy Poppies" by the Veterans <br />of Foreign Wars of the United States of America, an organization <br />chartered by the Congress of the United States, has been officially <br />recognized and endorsed by The Pzesident of the United States of <br />America as well as the Veterans' Administration; and <br />WHEREAS, the proceeds of this worthy fund-raising campaign <br />are used exclusively for the benefit of disabled and needy veterans, <br />and the widows and orphans of deceased veterans; and <br />WHEREAS, the basic purpose of the annual sale of "Buddy <br />Poppies" by the Veterans of Foreign Wars is eloquently reflected in <br />the desire to "Honor the Dead by Helping the Living". <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />NORTH OLMSTED, COUNTY OF CUYAHOGA AND STATE OF OHIO; <br />SECTION 1• <br />of North Olmsted• <br />cause by urging <br />generously to its <br />the day or days <br />loyalty to this cit <br />That the Mayor and the entire Council of the City <br />do hereby recognize the patriotic merits of this <br />the citizens of North Olmsted to contribute <br />support through the purchase of "Buddy Poppies" on <br />set aside for the distribution of these symbols of <br />Y• <br />SECTION 2: That all citizens of the City of North Olmsted <br />are urged to wear a "Buddy Poppy" as mute evidence of gratitude to <br />the men of the United States of America who risked their lives in <br />defense of the freedoms which we continue to enjoy as American <br />citizens. <br />SECTION 3: That this Resolution shall take effect and be in <br />force from and after the earliest period allowed by law. <br />PASSED: / ~ <br />~- <br />FLORENCE E.
