, . <br /> <br />BY: MR. 0'GRADY <br />AN ORDINANCE <br />LORAIN ROAD <br />MUNICIPAL CO <br />STREET RATHER <br />ESTABLISHING <br />AND DECLARING <br />CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />ORDINANCE N0. 84 - 90 <br />" Ilb <br />? <br />t? <br />DESIGNATING PORTER ROAD FROM <br />NORTH TO THE NORTH OLMSTED <br />RPORATION LINE AS A RESIDENTIAL <br />THAN A THROUGH HIGHWAY AND ALSO <br />A 25 MILES PER HOUR SPEED LIMIT <br />AN EMERGENCY. <br />WHEREAS, this Council has been made aware of the continuing <br />traffic problems on North Porter Road; and <br />WHEREAS, this Council, after study and consideration, has <br />determined that North Porter Road is a residential street rather <br />than a through highway and that as such it is the desire of this <br />Council to designate by Ordinance that the aforesaid portion of <br />Porter Road is no longer to be considered a through highway and <br />further that the speed limit thereon should be reduced from 35 <br />miles per hour to 25 miles per hour. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />NORTH OLMSTED, COUNTY OF CUYAHOGA AND STATE OF OHIO: <br />SECTION 1: That this Council does hereby declare that Porter <br />Road from Lorain Road north to the North Olmsted municipal <br />corporation line is hereby designated to be a residential street <br />rather than a through highway. <br />SECTION 2: That the speed limit on that portion of Porter <br />Road, designated in Section 1 hereof, shall be reduced from 35 <br />miles per hour to 25 miles per hours and that the Police <br />Department designate the same on the traffic control map and <br />file, which is in their possession. <br />SECTION 3: That the Mayor be and he is hereby authorized and <br />directed to cause speed limit signs posted on Porter Road as <br />designated in Sections 1 and 2 hereof. <br />SECTION 4: That this Ordinance is h b d 1 <br />_ ere y ec ared to be an <br />emergency measure immediately necessary for the preservation of <br />the public health, safety and welfare and for the further reason <br />that it is immediately necessary to protect the lives and <br />property of the citizens of North Olmsted, and further provided <br />it receives the affirmative vote of two-thirds of all members <br />elected to Council, it shall take effect and be in force <br />immediately upon its passage and approval by the Mayor.
