<br />0 <br />CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />ORDINANCE N0. 85 - 112 <br />BY: <br />MAYOR SWIETYNIOWSKI <br />? <br />AN ORDINANCE RATIFYING AND CONFIRMING THE OFFER <br />OF THE MAYOR OF THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED TO THE <br />GREATER CLEVELAND REGIONAL TRANSIT AUTHORITY TO <br />BE BOUND BY THE CONCLUSIONS OF AN AUDIT, WHICH <br />AUDIT IS BEING PAID FOR THROUGH FEDERAL FUNDS, <br />AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. <br />WHEREAS, after a number of years of negotiations with the <br />Greater Cleveland Regional Transit Authority, the City of North <br />Olmsted, through its Mayor, has finally had an offer from the <br />Greater Cleveland Regional Transit Authority to participate in <br />an audit, which offer was accepted by the Mayor on behalf of the <br />City of North Olmsted, and <br />WHEREAS, the mutual agreement reached by the City of North <br />Olmsted and the Greater Cleveland Regional Transit Authority pro- <br />vides each to be equally bound by the results of an audit, which <br />audit will analyze, among other things, the cost effectiveness of <br />transit service and the quality and level of service supplied by <br />the City of North Olmsted to its area of operation within the county, <br />and <br />WHEREAS, this Council adopts the principle that the ultimate <br />goal of any transit service is to provide quality service at the <br />lowest and most competitive price. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />NORTH OLMSTED, COUNTY OF CUYAHOGA AND STATE OF OHIO: <br />SECTION l: That this Council does hereby ratify and confirm <br />the offer of the Mayor of the City of North Olmsted, made to the <br />Greater Cleveland Regional Transit Authority, to have both parties <br />mutually bound by an audit which is to be done through federal funds, <br />the scope of which is hereinbefore set forth. <br />SECTION 2: That this Ordinance is hereby declared to be an <br />emergency measure immediately necessary for the preservation of the <br />public health, safety and welfare and for the further reason that <br />it is the desire of both parties to memorialize the verbal agreement <br />reached on October 22, 1985. <br />PASSED: ays- <br />ATTEST: <br />ORENCE E.
