CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />RESOLUTION N0. 85- 60 <br />BY: Mrs. Petrigac <br />A RESOLUTION URGING THE CONMISSIONERS OF CUYAHOGA <br />COUNTY TO TAKE WHATEVER STEPS ARE NECESSARY TO <br />ADOPT A PROGRAM FOR IMPLEMENTING A 9-1-1 EMERGENCY <br />TELEPHONE SYSTEM <br />WHEREAS, it has been established that the use of a single telephone <br />system for emergency calls throughout any given area is a desirable system; <br />and <br />WHEREAS, the same system would be desirable statewide; and <br />WHEREAS, when any individual within an area utilizes the 9-1-1 system <br />as an emergency it is not necessary for that person to try to determine the <br />phone number of the Police or Fire Department for that locale when there is <br />a 9-1-1 emergency system; and <br />WHEREAS, in an emergency situation often times minutes are extremely <br />important in the saving of lives or property; and <br />WHEREAS, it is the desire of this Council to urge the County <br />Commissioners of Cuyahoga County to implement a 9-1-1 emergency telephone <br />system. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NORTH <br />OLMSTED, COUNTY OF CUYAHOGA AND STATE OF OHIO: <br />SECTION l: This Council does hereby urge the County Commissioners of <br />Cuyahoga County to take whatever steps are necessary to implement a 9-1-1 <br />emergency telephone systern which system once implemented will be of a vast <br />service to the citizens of Cuyahoga County. <br />SECTION 2: That the Clerk be and she is hereby directed to forward a <br />copy of the Resolution to the Office of the County Commissioners of <br />Cuyahoga County. <br />SECTION 3: That this Resolution shall take effect and be in force from <br />and after the earliest period allowed by law, <br />PASSED: ? ?S- <br />ATTEST: <br />o?-?vr <br />FLORENCE CAMPBELL, CLER OF COUNCIL JAMES BOEHMER, PRESIDENT OF COUNCIL <br />/ APPRO ED -u?"''''
