~ ...... CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED ORDINANCE N0. 87-134 BY: MR. O'GRADY AN ORDINANCE REPEALING ORDINANCE N0. 72-38 WHICH GRANTED FREE TRANSPORTATION ON THE NORTH OLMSTED MUNICIPAL BUS LINE TO RETIRED, FULL-TIME EMPLOYEES OF THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED, AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY, AS AMENDED. WHEREAS, the City recognizes that by virtue of the current operating agreement between the North Olmsted Municipal Bus Line and the Greater Cleveland Regional Transit Authority that Ordinance No. 72-38 is incon- sistent with this agreement, and WHEREAS, in new negotiations between the above stated parties which will ultimately conclude in a new operating agreement it is best to repeal Ordinance No. 72-38, and WHEREAS, there is an established fare policy for senior citizens and disabled transit riders which allows for substantial fare discounts as authorized by the Greater Cleveland REgional Transit Authority Board of Trustees for all residents of Cuyahoga County. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED, COUNTY OF CUYAHOGA AND STATE OF OHIO: SECTION 1: That Ordinance No. 72-38 is hereby repealed. SECTION 2: That this Ordinance is hereby declared to be an emergency measure immediately necessary for the preservation of the public health, safety and welfare and for the further reason that it is immediately necessary to provide for the continuity of service of the North Olmsted Municipal Bus Line, and further, provided it receives the affirmative vote of two-thirds of all members elected to Council, it shall take effect and be in force immediately upon its passage and approval by the Mayor.
