.... , .k.,..,. . . ....... . . .... . ... .. .. . . . .. . ,.., . . <br />CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />ORDINANCE N0. 88-128 <br />BY: a-?`' ? ? - <br />U <br />AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING AND DIRECTING THE MAYOR OF THE <br />CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED TO ENTER INTO AN OPERATiNG <br />AGREEMENT WITH THE GREATER CLEVELAND REGIONAL TRANSIT <br />AUTHORITY FOR THE PURPOSE OF PROVIDING TRAII3IT SERVICES <br />IN COOPERATION WITH SAID AUTHORITY AND DECLARING AN <br />EMERGENCY. <br />WHEREAS, the City of North Olmsted has operated a municipal Bus Line <br />since 1932; and <br />WHEREAS, in 1975, after the passaqe of a county wide sales tax ear- <br />marked for transit purposes, the City entered into an operating agreement <br />with the Greater Cleveland Reqional Transit Authority which operatinq <br />aqreement has continued from time to time since; and <br />WHEREAS, the City and the Greater Cleveland Reqional Transit Authority <br />have after an UIr1TA sponsored audit and numerous negotiation sessioas <br />reached an accord on an operating agreement; and <br />WHEREAS, it is the opinion of the administration and Council that said <br />agreement is in the best interest of the City, as well as the general <br />riding public, who utilize the transit services of the Greater Cleveland <br />Reqional Transit Authoritp; and <br />WHEREAS, it is the opinion of this Council that the aqreement which is <br />attached hereto and marhed Exhibit "A" should be executed on behalf of the <br />City by the Mayor. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NORTH <br />OLMSTED, COUNTY OF CUYAHOGA AND STATE OF OHIO: <br />SECTION 1: That the Mayor be and she is hereby directed to siqn on <br />behalf of the City an operating agreement with the Greater Cleveland <br />Regional Transit Authority a copy of which is attached hereto and marked <br />Exhibit "A". <br />SECTIOIi 2: That this Ordinance is hereby declared to be an emerqency <br />measure imanediately necessary for the preservation of the public health, <br />safety, and welfare, and for the further reason that it is imnediately <br />necessary to enter into said agreement for the purpose of providinq for the <br />1
