YVCJNNE PEIRIGAC <br />AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE POLIC;E DEPARIl= TO PURCHASE <br />A FIRE AI,ARM SYSTENI TO BE PLACED IN TFIE JAIL AREA, AND <br />DECLARING AN IIMERGENCY. <br />WTEITM, this Council adopted Ordinance #86-114 which established a law <br />enforcenent trust fund; and <br />WHEREA.S, said Ordinance pravides that the Council, among other things, <br />may fran time to time authorize the expenditure of funds for purposes for <br />which the Council deems appropriate; and <br />WHEREAS, upon advice frcxn the Chief of Police to this Council, it has <br />bePxi determined that a fire alarm systen must be installed in the jail area <br />in coupliance with requirements of the Ohio Department of Rehabilitation <br />and Correction; and <br />WHEREAS, there are sufficient funds presently in the law enforcement <br />trust fund to purchase this equiFine.nt; and <br />WHE'REA,S, it is the desire of this Council to authorize the Chief_ of <br />Police to purchase a fire alarm system in an amount not to exceed Three <br />Thousand Dollars ($3,000.00); <br />NO4J, ZfiEREF'ORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY TFE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NORTH <br />OIMSTED, CUYAHOGA COUN'I'Y AND STATE OF OHIO: <br />SECTION 1: That the Chief of Police be and he is hereby authorized to <br />purcnase a fire alarm system which is to be used in the Police Department <br />jail area, which purchase shall not exceed the slun of $3,000.00; <br />SECl'ION 2: That this Ordinance is hereby declared to be an emergency <br />measure ?diately necessary for the preservation of the public health, <br />safety and velfare, and further pravided it is imnediately necessary to <br />upgrade the jail area in the Police Departnuent, and further pravided it <br />receives the affirmative vote of two-thirds of all members of Council, <br />it shall take effect and be in force inmediately upon its passage and <br />approval by the Mayor.
