<br /> <br />r <br />CITY OF NQRTH OLMSTED <br />RESOLUTION N0. 88-90 <br />BY: Mayor M. Yvonne Petrigac <br />RESOLUTION BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NORTH <br />OLMSTED EXPRESSING ITS SUPPORT IN FAVOR OF OHIO <br />GETIEKAL ASSEMBLY HOUSE BILL 786 AND HOUSE BILL 791 <br />APdD URGING THE HOUSE GENERAL ASSEMBLY TO ADOPT THE <br />SAiML. <br />WHEREAS, there is presently pending before the Ohio General <br />Assembly House Bill 786, and House Bill 791 which provide for the rignts of <br />parents to determine the activities of their children in non-school time; <br />and ' <br />WHEAEAS, we believe that certain rules of the Ohio High School <br />Athletic Association are unfair and remove the rights of parents to <br />determine the activities of their children in non-school time; and <br />WHEREAS, the rights of the Ohio High School Athletic Association <br />will be protected to operate their programs during each sports season; and <br />WHEREAS, it is our opinion that corrections are needed to insure <br />parental rights and that.students in our school district are treated <br />fairly. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NORTH <br />OLMSTED, COUNTY OF CUYAHOGA AND STATE OF OHIO: <br />Section l: That the City Council and Mayor endorsethe corrective <br />legislation proposed in House Bills 786 and 791 to permit the rights of our <br />parents to •determine the activities their children can and cannot <br />participate in during non-school hours. <br />Section 2: That the Clerk of the Council is hereby directed to <br />farward copies of this resolution to our representatives in the Ohio <br />Legislature for presentation to the Speaker of the House of <br />Representatives.
