CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />RESOLUTION N0. 91-193 <br />BY: THE MAYOR AND ENTIRE CITY COUNCIL <br />A RESOLUTION COMMENDING THE PUBLIC SERVICE OF <br />RUSSELL L. BIERMAN, SR. <br />WHEREAS, The members of Council, the Mayor and the <br />administration of the City of North Olmsted, Ohio, wish to <br />commend the public service and dedication of <br />RUSSELL L. BIERMAN, SR. by setting forth his record of <br />public service. <br />The City of North Olmsted lost one of its most devoted <br />public servants with the death of RUSSELL L. BIERMAN, SR. <br />on May 29, 1991. <br />He served on the police force from 1952 until his <br />retirement in 1976 and was the founder of North <br />Olmsted's Safety Town program. <br />He was a Councilman for two terms in the 1980s and <br />served on both the North Olmsted Planning and Landmarks <br />Commissions. <br />An active member of the North Olmsted Republican Club, <br />he was chosen Republican Man of the Year in 1986. <br />He was a member of the North Olmsted Kiwanis Club, <br />where he served as president in 1981, and a member of <br />the board of directors of Horizon Activities Center. <br />He was a charter member of N.O. VFW Post 7647 and of <br />North Olmsted Masonic Lodge 741. <br />Throughout his long career of public service, Russ <br />Bierman earned the respect, admiration and high regard <br />of those with whom he came in contact. <br />He was the loving husband of wife, Jeannette, and <br />father to son, Russell L. Jr. and daughter, <br />Barbara L. Nelson. <br />
