CITY OF NORTH OI1r1STID <br />ORDINANCE N0. 91-89 <br />BY: Councilman -Leonard <br />AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE DIRECTOR OF PUBLIC SERVICE TO ADVERTISE <br />FOR BID5 FOR THE PURCHASE OF TWO (2) SIX PASSENGER, FOUR DOOR SEDAN <br />AUTOMOBILES TO BE USED BY THE MAYOR AND SERVICE DIRECTOR, AND <br />REPEALING ORDINANCE N0. 91-55, AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. <br />WHEREAS, this Council recognizes that the automobiles presently being used <br />by the Mayor and Service Director have accumulated a great many miles and are <br />presently obsolete for purposes of utilizing said vehicles for administrative <br />purposes, and <br />WHEREAS, Ordinance No. 91-55 authorized the Service Director to advertise <br />for bids for the purchase of two (2) 1991 automobiles; however, 1991 Model <br />automobiles are not readily available which meet the specifications on file <br />in the office of the Service Director. <br />WHEREAS, this Council authorized the Director of Public Service to advertise <br />for two (2), six passenger, four door sedan automobiles by virtue of the passage <br />of Ordinance No. 91-55, and no responsive bids were received, thus making it <br />necessary to readvertise. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />COUNTY OF CUYAHOGA, AND STATE OF OHIO: <br />SECTION l: That the Director of Public Service be and he is hereby <br />authorized to advertise for bids for the purchase of two (2) 1992 automobiles <br />to be used by the Mayor and Service Director, which shall be in accordance <br />with specifications now on file in his office, and that upon approval by the <br />Board of Control, the Mayor is authorized to enter into a contract and execute <br />same on behalf of the City of North Olmsted. <br />SECTION 2: That Ordinance No. 91-55 is hereby repealed. <br />SECTION 3: That this Ordinance is hereby declared to be an emergency <br />measure immediately necessary for the preservation of the public health, safety <br />and welfare, and for the further reason that it is immediately necessary to <br />replace the existing automobiles being used by the Mayor and Service Director <br />which are obsolete because of excessive mileage, and further provided it receives <br />the affirmative vote of two-thirds of all members elected to Council, it shall <br />take effect and be in force immediately upon its passage and approval by the <br />Mayor. <br />
