.? ` . <br />, <br />CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />ORDINANCE N0. 93-88 <br />BY: Mayor Ed Boyle <br />AN ORDINANCE ESTABLISHING A POLICY OF THE PAYMENT OF <br />INCENTIVE BONUSES TO EMPLOYEES OF THE CITY OTF1EEt THAN <br />ELECTID OFFICIALS, DIRECTORS OR DIVISION HEADS FOR <br />SUGGESTING AND HAVING IMPLIIMIIVTID COST SAVING MEASURES <br />IN 'IIHE OPERATION OF THE CITY, AS AMENDED. <br />WHERFAS, the administration recognizes often times that employees who work <br />for the City who are in positions other than that of elected officials, <br />Directors or Division Heads have recognized certain processes or procedures <br />which when implemented will save the City costs in operation; and <br />WHEREA.S, it is the desire of this Council as an incentive to the employees <br />of the City to suggest and assist in implementation of such cost saving measures <br />to receive a bonus for such suggestion; and <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY TfiE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED, COUNTY OF <br />CiJYAHOGA, STATE OF OHIO: <br />SECTION l: That this City does hereby adopt a policy of providing to <br />employees of the City other than elected officials, Directors or Division Heads <br />a bonus for the suggestion and eventual implementation of cost saving r,ieasures <br />that will benefit the City. In order to qualify for the aforesaid bonus, the <br />employee making the suggestions must do the following: <br />1. Any suggestion must be in writing, signed and dated by the employee. <br />2. Said suggestion as specified it item 1 must be submitted to the <br />Division Head or Director of the appropriate department and the Mayor. <br />3. A review board consisting of the Mayor, Director and Division Head by a <br />ma.jority must approve the suggested money saving process or procedure. <br />Upon approval by the board of review and after the suggestion ha,s been in <br />effect for one (1) year, said employees shall receive ten percent (10%) of the <br />annual savings or additional revenue, whichever the case may be.
