.? ` . , CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED ORDINANCE N0. 93-88 BY: Mayor Ed Boyle AN ORDINANCE ESTABLISHING A POLICY OF THE PAYMENT OF INCENTIVE BONUSES TO EMPLOYEES OF THE CITY OTF1EEt THAN ELECTID OFFICIALS, DIRECTORS OR DIVISION HEADS FOR SUGGESTING AND HAVING IMPLIIMIIVTID COST SAVING MEASURES IN 'IIHE OPERATION OF THE CITY, AS AMENDED. WHERFAS, the administration recognizes often times that employees who work for the City who are in positions other than that of elected officials, Directors or Division Heads have recognized certain processes or procedures which when implemented will save the City costs in operation; and WHEREA.S, it is the desire of this Council as an incentive to the employees of the City to suggest and assist in implementation of such cost saving measures to receive a bonus for such suggestion; and NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY TfiE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED, COUNTY OF CiJYAHOGA, STATE OF OHIO: SECTION l: That this City does hereby adopt a policy of providing to employees of the City other than elected officials, Directors or Division Heads a bonus for the suggestion and eventual implementation of cost saving r,ieasures that will benefit the City. In order to qualify for the aforesaid bonus, the employee making the suggestions must do the following: 1. Any suggestion must be in writing, signed and dated by the employee. 2. Said suggestion as specified it item 1 must be submitted to the Division Head or Director of the appropriate department and the Mayor. 3. A review board consisting of the Mayor, Director and Division Head by a ma.jority must approve the suggested money saving process or procedure. Upon approval by the board of review and after the suggestion ha,s been in effect for one (1) year, said employees shall receive ten percent (10%) of the annual savings or additional revenue, whichever the case may be.
