CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />RESOLUTION NO. 2012 -4 <br />By: Mayor Kennedy <br />A RESOL UTION A UTHORIZING AND DIRECTING THE <br />ADMINISTRATOR OF THE NORTH OLMSTED SENIOR CENTER TO <br />FILE AN APPLICATION ON BEHALF OF THE CITY OF NORTH <br />OLMSTED FOR PARTICPATION IN THE OHIO DEPARTMENT OF <br />NATURAL RESOURCES ("ODNR") NATURE WORKS PROGRAM FOR <br />THE PURPOSE OF OBTAINING FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE FOR A <br />WALKING TRAIL AT NORTH OLMSTED PARK AND FURTHER <br />A UTHORIZING THF, MAYOR TO ACCEPT SAID ASSISTANCE IF <br />AWARDED AND TO EXECUTE CONTRACT DOCUMENTS WITH ODNR, <br />AS NECESSARY, AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. <br />WHEREAS, the Ohio Department of Natural Resources ("ODNR") provides financial <br />assistance to local communities for real estate and land management projects, such as a walking <br />trail project, through the Nature Warks, in the form of project grants and reimbursement <br />programs; and <br />WHEREAS, eligible Nature Works projects require a minimum local matching <br />contribution of 25%, 5% of which may come from other state or federal resources, and the City's <br />share may provide "in-kind" contributions of land, labor, materials, and equipment deployed in <br />the project, subject to documentation and valuation; and <br />WHEREAS, it is accordingly the desire of this Council to authorize the North Olmsted <br />Senior Center Administrator to make application for available funding and, if awarded, to <br />authorize the Mayor to accept the fiinding options and to execute any necessary contract <br />documents with ODNR. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />NORTH OLMSTED, COUNTY OF CUYAHOGA, AND STATE OF OHIO: <br />SECTION 1: That this Council does hereby authorize the Administrator of the North <br />Olmsted Senior Center to prepare, sign and submit an application to the Ohio Department of <br />Natural Resources ("ODNR") for funding and other financial assistance for a North Olmsted <br />Park walking trail and similar improvements projects through the Nature Works Program <br />("RTP") on behalf of the City of North Olmsted. <br />SECTION 2: That this Council does further authorize the Mayor to accept financial <br />assistance or grant funding that may be granted by ODNR and to execute contract documents if <br />awarded.
