CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />ORDINANCE NO. 2012 - 25 <br />By: Mayor Kennedy <br />AN ORDINANCE ENACTING NEW CHAPTER 949 OF <br />THE STREETS, UTILITIES AND PUBLIC SERVICES <br />CODE, ENTITLED "INDIGENT BURIAL': <br />WHEREAS, §9.15 of the Ohio Revised Code places upon the City the responsibility of <br />burying or cremating a deceased indigent person found within the City whose body is not claimed for <br />private interment or cremation; and <br />WHEREAS, §9.15 further places upon the City the responsibility of burying or <br />cremating an indigent deceased person when the body is claimed by an indigent person; and <br />WHEREAS, this Council finds it to be in the best interest of the health, safety and <br />welfare of the residents of the City of North Olmsted to establish a policy for indigent <br />burials. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAIIVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITYOF <br />NORTH OLMSTED, OHIO: <br />SECTION 1: That new Chapter 944 of the Streets, utilities and Public Services Code <br />shall read in its entirety as set forth in Exhibit A, which is attached to this Ordinance and <br />incorporated by reference as if fully rewritten herein. <br />SECTION 2: That this Ordinance shall take effect and be in force from and after the <br />earliest date provided for by law. <br />PASSED: ?
