CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />ORDINANCE NO. 2012 - 67 <br />BY: Mayor Kennedy <br />AN ORDINANCE AMENDING AND RE-ESTABLISHING CHAPTER 155 <br />OF THE ADMINISTRATIVE CODE ENTITLED "PARKS AND <br />RECREA TION COMMISSION" IN ORDER TO AMEND THE D UTIES AND <br />MEETING REQUIREMENTS OF THE PARKS AND RECREATION <br />COMMISSION. <br />WHEREAS, the Parks and Recreation Commission of the City of North Olmsted was <br />created by Charter Art. VII, §3 in January of 1971; and <br />WHEREAS, the Council passed legislation in December of 1971 further clarifying the <br />duties of the Parks and Recreation Commission and requiring that body to meet at least once <br />monthly; and <br />WHEREAS, the duties enumerated in Chapter 155 of the Administrative Code largely <br />have remained in place since inception, without adjustment as to feasibility or practicality; and <br />WHEREAS, the Mayor and Recreation Commissioner recommend that the meeting <br />requirement for the Parks and Recreation commission be adjusted to a quarterly schedule, as <br />opposed to monthly, and further recommends that the duties be amended to recognize the <br />responsibility of the Recreation Commissioner to perform his or her administrative job duties in <br />managing the division on a day to day basis. <br />NOW THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />NORTH OLMSTED, CUYAHOGA COUNTY, AND STATE OF OHIO: <br />SECTION 1: That Chapter 155 "Parks and Recreation Commission," which presently <br />reads in its entirety as set forth in Exhibit A, which is attached to this Ordinance and <br />incorporated by reference as if fully rewritten herein, shall be amended and, as amended, shall <br />read in its entirety as set forth in Exhibit B, which is likewise attached to this Ordinance and <br />likewise incorporated by reference as if fully rewritten herein. <br />SECTION 2: That any ordinance, or part of ordinance, in conflict or inconsistent with <br />this Ordinance, is, to the extent of any such conflict or inconsistency, repealed. Conflicting or <br />inconsistent provisions of any Ordinance shall be corrected at re-codification. <br />SECTION 3: That this Ordinance shall take effect and be in force from and after the <br />earliest date provided for by law.
