CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />RESOLUTION NO. 2013 - 29 <br />By: Mayor Kennedy <br />A RESOL UTION A UTHORIZING AND DIRECTING THE DIRECTOR OF <br />PLANNING AND DEVELOPMENT TO MAKE APPLICATION ON BEHALF <br />OF THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED FOR COMMUNITY <br />DEVELOPMENT BLOCK GRANT (CDBG) FUNDS FOR THE FISCAL <br />YEAR 2013 FOR THE SENIOR CENTER ROOF REPLACEMENT <br />PROJECT; FURTHER AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO ACCEPT THE <br />GRANT IF A WARDED AND TO EXECUTE A CONTRACT WITH <br />CUYAHOGA COUNTY, AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. <br />WHEREAS, this Council has determined that the City of North Olmsted qualifies for <br />CDBG funds for the Senior Center Roof Replacement; and <br />WHEREAS, said project includes applying for up to the maximum award of a CDBG <br />municipal grant in the amount of up to One Hundred and Fifty Thousand Dollars ($150,000.00) <br />for such project; and <br />4*AW WHEREAS, it is accordingly the desire of this Council to autharize the Director of <br />Planning and Development to make application for said CDBG funding for said project and to <br />authorize the Mayor to accept the CDBG grant if awarded. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />NORTH OLMSTED, COUNTY OF CUYAHOGA, AND STATE OF OHIO: <br />SECTION 1: That this Council does hereby authorize the Director of Planning and <br />Development to prepare, sign and submit an application for Community Development Block <br />Grant funds for fiscal year 2013 on behalf of the City of North Olmsted for the Senior Center <br />Roof Replacement Project in the maximum amount of $150,000.00 and does further authorize <br />the Mayor, if awarded, to accept the grant and execute a contract and any and all other necessary <br />papers. <br />SECTION 2: That this Council does, in accordance with the rules and requirements for <br />CDBG applications, and in order to satisfy any and all prerequisites to qualify for the same, <br />hereby authorize and direct the Director of Planning and Development to coordinate with the <br />Director of Public Service, as may be necessary, to develop the said project proposal so as to <br />meet and/or exceed the CDBG application standards, and for the Director of Public Service to <br />provide any and all necessary information and assistance to the Director of Planning and <br />Development in establishing, documenting, and fulfilling the CDBG application specifications <br />for the said project proposal. <br />? <br />SECTION 3: That this Resolution is hereby declared to be an emergency measure <br />immediately necessary for the preservation of the public health, safety, and welfare, and for the <br />further reason it is necessary that this legislation go into effect immediately in order that the City
