<br />By: Mayor O'Grady <br />IN <br />CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />RESOLUTION NO. 2006 - 142 <br />A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR, ON BEHALF OF THE CITY OF <br />NORTH OLMSTED, TO ENTER INTO AN AGREEMENT WITH THE BOARD OF <br />CUYAHOGA COUNTY COMMISSIONERS FOR THE PURPOSE OFACCEPTINGA <br />FY2005 URBAN AREA SECURITY INITIATIVE GRANT FOR THE FIRE <br />DEPARTMENT, AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. <br />WHEREAS, the Director of Public Safety has recommended that the City enter into an agreement with the Board of <br />Cuyahoga County Commissioners providing for the City to receive a FY2005 Urban Area Security Initiative (UASI) grant in <br />the amount of $5,560.00 to be used by the Fire Department for "backfill, overtime, and per diem of CITY Fire Department <br />employee(s) taking an approved Office of Domestic Preparedness (ODP) Structural Collapse Technician (SCT) training <br />course"; and <br />WHEREAS, it is the desire of this Council to authorize the Mayor, on behalf of the City, to enter into s;q;i <br />agreement with the Board of Cuyahoga County Commissioners; <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED, <br />COUNTY OF CUYAHOGA AND STATE OF OHIO: <br />SECTION 1: That the Mayor be, and he hereby is, authorized, on behalf of the City of North Olmsted *o enter inio <br />an agreement with the Board of Cuyahoga Counry Commissioners for the purposes of accepting a FY2005 Urban Area <br />Security Initiative grant, in the form of the Agreement marked as Exhibit A and attached hereto, with only such changes to <br />be hereinafter made as are not substantially adverse to the City and which are approved by the Director of Law. The <br />character of any such changes as not being substantially adverse to the City shall be evidenced conclusively by the execution <br />of the Agreement by the Mayor and the approval of the Agreement by the Director of Law. <br />SECTION 2: That this Resolution is hereby declared to be an emergency measure immediately necessary for the <br />preservation of the public health, safety and welfare and for the further reason that it is necessary that this legislation go into <br />effect immediately in order to receive backfill/overtime monies for fire employees who participated in the Structural <br />Collapse Operations training course; and further provided that it receives the affirmative vote of two-thirds of all members nf <br />Council, it shall take effect and be in force immediately upon its passage and approval by the Mayor. <br />PASSED: ?
