CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />RESOLUTION NO. 2010 - 110 <br />By: Mayor Kennedy & Council Member Barker <br />A RESOL UTION A UTHORIZING THE MA YOR TO ENTER INTO A <br />CONTRACT WITH GREAT LAKES BILLING ASSOCIATES, INC., TO <br />PERFORM BILLING AND COLLECTION SERVICES FOR EMERGENCY <br />MEDICAL AND AMBULANCE TRANSPORTATION SERVICES AS <br />PROVIDED BY THE CITY, AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. <br />WHEREAS, this Council previously authorized the Mayor to enter into an Agreement with <br />Great Lakes Billing Associates, Inc., pursuant to Ordinance No. 2000-38, to perform billing and <br />collection services due to their expertise in the area of emergency medical services (EMS); and <br />WHEREAS, the Directors of Finance and Law have negotiated more favorable rates and <br />terms for the renewal Agreement and recommend the continued use of Great Lakes Billing; and <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOL VED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />NORTH OLMSTED, CUYAHOGA COUNTY, AND STATE OF OHIO: <br />SECTION 1: That the Mayor be and he is hereby authorized to enter into an Agreement <br />with Great Lakes Billing Associates, Inc., to provide billing and collection services for the collection <br />of non-resident charges for emergency medical services and ambulance transportation by the City of <br />North Olmsted. Said contract shall be in substantially the same form and substance as the contract <br />attached hereto as Exhibit A, with only such changes thereto as are not substantially adverse to the <br />City and which are approved by the Director of Law. The character of any such changes as not being <br />substantially adverse to the City shall be evidenced conclusively by the execution of the agreement <br />by the Mayor and the approval of the agreement by the Director of Law. <br />SECTION 2: That this Resolution is hereby declared to be an emergency measure <br />immediately necessary for the preservation of the public health, safety and welfare, and for the <br />further reason that it is immediately necessary to enter into this contract to protect public finances, <br />and further provided it receives the affirmative vote of two-thirds of all members of Council, it shall <br />take effect and be in force immediately upon its passage and approval by the Mayor. <br />PASSED: ?Iteo <br />First Reading: V1 7lJ-0( o <br />Second Reading: lU <br />Third Reading: ? <br />Committee: ?
