CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />ORDINANCE NO. 2010 -129 <br />BY: <br />Mayor Kennedy <br />AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE TRAFFIC CONTROL FILE <br />OF THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED TO PROVIDE FOR THE <br />INSTALLATION OF TWO "KEEP RIGHT" SIGNS ON THE <br />CENTER MEDIAN OF BROOKPARK ROAD AT THE TRAFFIC <br />SIGNAL REGULATING TRAFFIC EXITING WAL MART AND <br />NORTH OLMSTED TOWN CENTER, AND DECLARING AN <br />EMERGENCY. <br />WHEREAS, the City Engineer and Director of Public Safety believe that the installation of <br />"Keep Right" signs at intersection of Brookpark Road and the Wal Mart / North Olmsted Town Center <br />access drives would assist in the orderly flow of traffic; and <br />WHEREAS, this Council, based upon said report and recommendation, has determined that it <br />is in the best interest of the safety, health and welfare of the citizens of the City of Norrh Olmsted to <br />install "Keep Right" signs for the orderly flow of traffic, and accordingly, by the adoption of this <br />Ordinance, authorizes the installation of signage to do so; and <br />WHEREAS, Chapter 305 of the Traffic Code provides for the maintenance of the Traffic <br />Control File, which file can be amended only by Ordinance duly adopted by this Council. <br />NOW THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NORTH <br />OLMSTED, CUYAHOGA COUNTY, AND THE STATE OF OHIO: <br />SECTION 1: That the Police Department be and is hereby authorized and directed to amend <br />the Traffic Control File of the City of North Olmsted, subject to the approval of the City Engineer that <br />the same is in conformance with the Ohio Manual of Uniform Traffic Control Devices, to indicate <br />thereon the installation of a two "Keep Right" signs on the median of Brookpark Road at the <br />intersection of Brookpark Road and the Wal Mart / North Olmsted Town Center access drives. <br />SECTION 2: That the Mayor be and is hereby authorized to cause an appropriate sign or signs <br />to be installed on the median of Brookpark Road at the intersection of Brookpark Road and the Wal <br />Mart / North Olmsted Town Center access drives, in accordance with the provisions of this Ordinance <br />and the Ohio Manual of Uniform Traffic Control Devices. <br />SECTION 3: That this Ordinance is hereby declared to be an emergency measure immediately <br />necessary for the preservation of the public health, safety and welfare, and far the further reason that it <br />is necessary that this Ordinance go into effect immediately to eliminate vehicular access conflicts, and <br />further provided it receives the affirmative vote of two-thirds of all members of Council, it shall take <br />effect and be in force immediately upon its passage and approval by the Mayor. <br />PASSED: &4V !
