~J a-d-l..~ ~l~ q ~° 7 <br />CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />ORDINANCE NO. 2006 - 80 <br />BY: Council Members Miller, Ryan & Orlowski <br />AN ORDINANCE CREATING NEW SECTION 179.05 OF <br />CHAPTER 179 OF THE CITY ADMINISTRATIVE CODE <br />ENTITLED "DEPARTMENT OF PLANNING, " IN ORDER <br />TO ESTABLISH THE POSITION OF ECONOMIC <br />DEVELOPMENT OFFICER. <br />WHEREAS, acting in accordance with its authority pursuant to Article V, Section : of <br />the Charter, this Council desires to establish the position of Economic Development Officer <br />within the Department of Planning; <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />NORTH OLMSTED, CUYAHOGA COUNTY, AND STATE OF OHIO: <br />SECTION 1: That there be, and hereby is, created new Section 179.05 of Chapter 179 <br />of the Administrative Code of the City of North Olmsted entitled "Department of Planning," <br />which, as created, shall read in its entirety as follows: <br />"179.05 ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT OFFICER. <br />(a) There is hereby created within this Department the position of Economic <br />Development Officer. The Economic Development Officer shall be a full-time employee <br />appointed by and serving at the pleasure of the Director of Planning. He or she shall have a <br />Bachelor's degree from a four year accredited college or university in Urban Planning, <br />Business or Public Administration, Economics, Marketing, Finance, or a related field of <br />study. In addition, he or she shall have a minimum two years of related experience. <br />(b) The Economic Development Officer shall be responsible for preparation and <br />implementation of economic plans, programs and strategies designed to attract and retain <br />businesses in the City. He or she shall work under the supervision of the Director of Planning <br />and shall perform such duties as may be delegated to him or her by the Director of Planning <br />pursuant to the position's job description on file in the Personnel Department." <br />SECTION 2: That any Ordinance or any part of any Ordinance, inconsistent or in <br />conflict with this Ordinance is, to the extent of any such inconsistency or conflict, hereby <br />repealed. <br />
