~J a-d-l..~ ~l~ q ~° 7 CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED ORDINANCE NO. 2006 - 80 BY: Council Members Miller, Ryan & Orlowski AN ORDINANCE CREATING NEW SECTION 179.05 OF CHAPTER 179 OF THE CITY ADMINISTRATIVE CODE ENTITLED "DEPARTMENT OF PLANNING, " IN ORDER TO ESTABLISH THE POSITION OF ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT OFFICER. WHEREAS, acting in accordance with its authority pursuant to Article V, Section : of the Charter, this Council desires to establish the position of Economic Development Officer within the Department of Planning; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED, CUYAHOGA COUNTY, AND STATE OF OHIO: SECTION 1: That there be, and hereby is, created new Section 179.05 of Chapter 179 of the Administrative Code of the City of North Olmsted entitled "Department of Planning," which, as created, shall read in its entirety as follows: "179.05 ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT OFFICER. (a) There is hereby created within this Department the position of Economic Development Officer. The Economic Development Officer shall be a full-time employee appointed by and serving at the pleasure of the Director of Planning. He or she shall have a Bachelor's degree from a four year accredited college or university in Urban Planning, Business or Public Administration, Economics, Marketing, Finance, or a related field of study. In addition, he or she shall have a minimum two years of related experience. (b) The Economic Development Officer shall be responsible for preparation and implementation of economic plans, programs and strategies designed to attract and retain businesses in the City. He or she shall work under the supervision of the Director of Planning and shall perform such duties as may be delegated to him or her by the Director of Planning pursuant to the position's job description on file in the Personnel Department." SECTION 2: That any Ordinance or any part of any Ordinance, inconsistent or in conflict with this Ordinance is, to the extent of any such inconsistency or conflict, hereby repealed.
