CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />RESOLUTION N0.2006-61 <br />By: Mayor Thomas E. O'Grady <br />A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE DIRECTOR OF PUBLIC SERVICE <br />TO ADVERTISE FOR BIDS FOR ASPHALT RESURFACING ON <br />CONCRETE STREETS ALONG WITH RELATED CATCH BASIN, <br />MANHOLE, SIDEWALK AND CURBING REPAIRS AT VARIOUS <br />LOCATIONS IN THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED AS DETAILED IN THE <br />SPECIFICATIONS ON FILE, FURTHER AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO <br />ENTER INTO A CONTRACT WITH THE LOWEST AND BEST BIDDER <br />FOR SAID REPAIRS, AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY <br />WHEREAS, the Department of Public Service has advised this Council that it is <br />necessary to perform asphalt resurfacing on concrete streets along with related catch basin, <br />manhole, sidewalk and curbing repairs at various locations in the City; and <br />WHEREAS, the necessary plans and specifications for said repairs, as prepared under the <br />direction of the Engineering Department of the City of North Olmsted, are on file in the <br />Engineering Department; and <br />WHEREAS, it is the desire of this Council to authorize the Director of Public Service to <br />advertise for bids for asphalt resurfacing along with related catch basin, manhole, sidewalk and <br />curbing repairs at various locations in the City, and to further authorize the Mayor to enter into a <br />contract with the lowest and best bidder to perform said repairs; <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />NORTH OLMSTED, COUNTY OF CUYAHOGA, AND STATE OF OHIO: <br />SECTION 1: That the Director of Public Service be and he is hereby authorized to <br />advertise for bids for asphalt resurfacing along with related catch basin, manhole, sidewalk and <br />curbing repairs at various locations in the City of North Olmsted, in accordance with the plans <br />and specifications now on file in the Engineering Department, and further that, upon approval by <br />the Board of Control, the Mayor is authorized to enter into a contract and execute the same on <br />behalf of the City of North Olmsted with the lowest and best bidder. <br />SECTION 2: That this Resolution is hereby declared to be an emergency measure <br />immediately necessary for the preservation of the public health, safety and welfare, and further <br />for the reason that it is necessary that this Resolution go into effect immediately so that injuries <br />are not caused to residents of the City because of unperformed repairs to public right-of--way <br />areas, and further provided it receives the affirmative vote of two-thirds of all members of <br />Council, it shall take effect and be in force immediately upon its passage and approval by the <br />Mayor. <br />
