CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED ORDINANCE NO. 2006 - 59 BY: Council Member Gareau AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 1305.05 OF THE BUILDING CODE (SUPPLEMENTAL STANDARDS) IN ORDER TO PROVIDE NEW REQUIREMENTS FOR THE TREATMENT OF EXPOSED EXTERIOR CONCRETE OR BLOCK MASONRY WALLS IN THE CONSTRUCTION OF ONE, TWO OR THREE FAMILY DWELLINGS, AND DECLARING AN EMER GENCY. WHEREAS, Chapter 1305 of the City Building Code provides standards for the construction of one, two and three family dwellings in the City of North Olmsted; and WHEREAS, the Building Commissioner has recommended an amendment to Section 1305.05(c) of said Chapter 1305 in order to establish new and better requirements for the treatment of exposed exterior concrete or block masonry walls in the construction of one, two and three family dwellings, and accessory structures; and WHEREAS, it is accordingly the desire of this Council to amend Section 1305.05 of the Building Code, as recommended by the Building Commissioner, so as to establish said new and better requirements in the City's Building Code, thereby preserving and protecting the health, safety and welfare of the residential community; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED, COUNTY OF CUYAHOGA, STATE OF OHIO: SECTION 1: That Section 1305.05 of the Building Code which presently reads as follows: 1305.05 SUPPLEMENTAL STANDARDS. The following standards are supplemental to and shall be construed to constitute a part of the One and Two Family Dwelling Code adopted under Section 1305.01: (a) Posting Notice of Application Immediately upon application for a building permit signed by the owner or his authorized agent, which application shall be filed with the Building Commissioner on forms furnished by him, the Building Commissioner shall cause to have erected upon the property for which a permit is applied for a sign which shall have a notice thereon as follows: "A building permit applied for, plans and plat showing the elevation and grading to be as established on file in the office of the Building Commissioner, City Hall." Such sign shall remain on the premises for which a permit has been applied for, for a period often days after the date of the application for the permit. In all instances in which the proposed construction increases the area or cubic content of a building, or involves a building covered by a roof, or such application is for original construction of a roofed structure designed for use as a shelter for persons,
