CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />RESOLUTION N0.2006 - 52 <br />By: Mayor Thomas O'Grady <br />A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO HOLD AN ANNUAL <br />"MAYOR'S BALL" AS ACITY-SPONSORED EVENT AND DIRECTING <br />THAT THE PROCEEDS BE USED FOR A COMMUNITY OR <br />CHARITABLE PURPOSE AS DESIGNATED ANNUALLY BY THE MAYOR, <br />AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. <br />WHEREAS, the Mayor desires to hold an annual City-sponsored "Mayor's Ball" within <br />the City of North Olmsted; and <br />WHEREAS, in the past, net proceeds from Mayor's Balls have been donated to charitable <br />organizations; <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED B Y THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />NORTH OLMSTED, COUNTY OF CUYAHOGA, AND STATE OF OHIO: <br />SECTION 1: That the Mayor be and he is hereby authorized to hold an annual City- <br />sponsored Mayor's Ball on a date established by the Mayor. All net proceeds from the said <br />Mayor's Balls shall be donated to one or more community or charitable organizations as <br />designated annually by the Mayor. <br />SECTION 2: That this Resolution is hereby declared to be an emergency measure <br />immediately necessary for the preservation of the public health, safety and welfare, and further <br />for the reason that it is necessary that this Resolution go into effect immediately <br />so that the Mayor may hold his first Annual Ball set for April 1, 2006, as aCity-sponsored event; <br />and further provided it receives the affirmative vote of two-thirds of all members of Council, it <br />shall take effe and be in force immediately upon its passage and approval by the Mayor. <br />PASSED: ~ ~ ~.O D 6 First Reading: oZ otl DG <br />Second Reading: 3 7 ~ L <br />Third Reading.• 3 0~.1 d <br />Committee: ~~""~-~ <br />r. n <br />BARBARA L.
