<br />i <br />CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />RESOLUTION N0. 77 - ~~ <br />J <br />BY . lifts,. <br />~' <br />A RESOLUTION URGING THE STATE OF <br />OHIO DEPARTMENT OF HIGHtNAYS TO <br />EXPEDITE THE CONSTRUCTION OF RE- <br />LOCATED STATE ROUTE 252 WITHIN THE <br />CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />WHEREAS, State Route 252 within the boundaries of the City of <br />North Olmsted is an extremely hazardous roadway to the traveling <br />public because of the fact that there are a great many winding <br />turns, and <br />WHEREAS, because of the hazardous conditions of the existing <br />State Route 252, many accidents have been encountered which have <br />resulted in not only loss of property, but also loss of life, and <br />tNHEREAS, the Council of the City of North Olmsted believes <br />that the straightening of State Route 252 which is implemented <br />through the re-location of said road would eliminate virtually <br />all of the hazardous conditions which presently exist, and <br />WHEREAS, it is therefore the desire of this Council and the <br />Administration to urge the State of Ohio Department of Highways to <br />take immediate steps in the commencement of construction of the new, <br />re-located State Route 252. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />NORTH OLMSTED, COUNTY OF CUYAHOGA AND STATE OF OHIO: <br />SECTION 1: That the Council and the Administration of the City <br />of North Olmste do hereby urge the State of Ohio Department of <br />Highways to take immediate steps in the commencement of construction <br />of the new re-located State Route 252 so that the hazardous conditions <br />which presently exist can be eliminated. <br />SECTION 2: That the Clerk of this Council be and she is hereby <br />direct o~orward a copy of this Resolution to the following named <br />persons: Governor James Rhodes, Senator Anthony Celebrezze, Senator <br />Jerry Stano, Representative Rocco Colonna, Representative James Betts <br />and the Director of the Ohio Department of Transportation. <br />SECTION 3: That this Resolution shall take effect and be in <br />force from an after the earliest period allowed by law. <br />PASSED : • ,~ S-' <br />ATTEST: <br />~K~ ~, <br />Nora T.
