BUILDING" OF CHAPTER 331 OF '?'HE TRAFFIC CODE ENTITLED "OPF.RATION GENERALLY" WfEREAS, upon careful consideration this Colm.cil has determined that the existing Section 331.11 of the Codified Ordinances is deficient in tha.t it fails to require the motoring public to yield the right-of-way to persons who are operating bicycles on the sidewalks within the City, and WHEREAS, it is the desire of tris Council to clarify the language which would be broad enough to include all individua.ls, either pedestrians or individuals riding bicycles, who are on the sidewallcs and lawfully using the same. IT ORDAINED BY THL CIT'Y OF NORTH OBISTED, COLJPUY OF CUYAHOGA, AND STATE OF OHIO: Section l: That Section 331.11 of the Codified Ordinances of th.e City of North Olmsted entitled "Turning Into Private Driveway-, Al1ey or Building" of Chapter 331 entitled "Oneration Generally" which now reads: "331.11 T'iJRNING INTQ PRIVATE DRIVEWAY, ALLEY OR Bt?ILDING. The driver of a vehicle intending to turn into a private road or dr.iveway, alley or building from a public street or hignway shall be governed by the following rules: (a) Apbroach for a right turn and a right turn sr.all be made as close as nracticable to the right-hand curb or edge of the roadway. (b) ilpon a roadway where traffic is proceeding in opposite direction s, apnroach for a left turn and a left turn shall be made from that portion of the right half of the roadway nearest the center line thereof. (c) Upon a roadway where traffic is restricted to one direction, annroach for a left turn and a left turn shall be made as close as practicable to the left-hand curb or edge of the roadway. It sha11 be the duty of the driver of any vehicle entering a nrivate road or driveway, alley or building to yield the right-of-way to pedestrians lawfully using the sidewalk or sidewalk area extending across any alleyway." be and the same is hereby amended and as amended shall read as follows: 331.11 TURNING INTO PRIVATE DRIVEWAY, ALLFY OR I3UILDING.
