G?s <br />AN ORDINANCE CORRECTING THE MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING <br />WITH THE AMERICAN FEDERATION OF STATE, COUNTY AND <br />MUNICIPAL EMPLOYEES, HEREAFTER REFERRED TO AS AFSCME, <br />WHICH ESTABLISHED THE REMUNERATION FOR CERTAIN EMPLOYEES, <br />IN THE PUBLIC WORKS DIVISIQN OF THE DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC <br />SERVICE OF THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED, AS SET FORTH IN <br />ORDINANCE N0. 77-170, ENACTED ON OCTOBER 18, 1977. <br />WHEREAS, the City has entered into Memoranda of Understanding <br />with the AFSCME with respect to the compensation and other conditions <br />of employment of certain employees in the Public Works Division of <br />the Department of Public Service of the City of North Olmsted, said <br />Memoranda being authorized by Ordinance No. 73-115 enacted September <br />18, 1973 and Ordinance No. 75-198 enacted September 2, 1975, and <br />Ordinance No. 77-170 enacted on October 18, 1977; and <br />WHEREAS, the duly authorized representative of North Olmsted <br />met with the representatives of the AFSCME and negotiated terms?of <br />employment and wages for the periods of July 19, 1977 to July 19, <br />1979 inclusive; and ? <br />WHEREAS, the good faith terms of wage remunerations were not <br />accurately conveyed to the Council of the City of North Olmsted <br />due to a clerical error; to wit under Appendix A-2, Page 44 - <br />the four cent ($.04) per hour wage increase to be effective <br />January 19, 1979 for each wage rate should also have applied to <br />all wage rates listed on Appendix A-1, Page 43 of the Memorandum <br />of Understanding. <br />NOW,_THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of <br />North Olmsted, State of Ohio and upon the recommendation of the <br />Service Director; <br />Section 1: That the Memorandum of Understanding with the AFSCME <br />is ere y corrected to reflect the original intent of the City of <br />North Olmsted and AFSCME by deleting on Appendix A-2, Page 44 in <br />the last paragraph, "th'is Appendix A-2" and inse-kting, "Appendix <br />A-1 and A-2"... <br />Section 2: That all other provisions of the aforesaid Memorandum <br />of Understanding shall remain in full force and effect, and the <br />Mayor is hereby authorized and directed to affix his signature <br />thereto for and on betialf of the City. <br />Section 3: That the Clerk of Council is hereby instructed to forward <br />a copy o t is ordinance to the Director of Public Service and to <br />the Director of Finance in order that the Director of Finance can pay the compensation authorized by this ordinance and the Memorandum <br />of Understanding attached hereto and made a part hereof. <br />Section 4: That this Ordinance is hereby declared to be an <br />emergency measure necessary for the preservation of the public <br />peace, health, safety and welfare of the City by virtue of the <br />fact of the immediate necessity of adjusting to the requirements <br />of the various jobs. WHEREFORE, this Ordinance shall take effect <br />and be in force immediately upon its passage, otherwise at the <br />earliest period allowed by law. <br />PASSED: ?
