CITY OF 'NORTH OLMSTED <br />RESOLUTION N0. 76- ~~0 <br />A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO MAKE <br />APPLICATION AND ENTER INTO A CONTRACT WITH <br />THE OHIO DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION FOR <br />AN OHIO MASS TRANSPORTATION CAPITAL ASSISTANCE <br />GRA'~TT , AND DECLARING AN ED4ERGENCY . <br />WHEREAS, the operation of the City of North Olmsted Muni- <br />cipal Bus Line is being hampered due to inadequate vehicles, <br />and <br />WfiEREAS, the City of North Olmsted does not have suf- <br />ficient funds or the bonding capacity on hand to meet the <br />needs of the Bus Line for the purchase of new equipment, <br />and <br />WHEREAS, the State of Ohio, through the Department of <br />Transportation has funds available for Ohio Mass Transportation <br />Capital Assistance for the purpose of providing financial <br />assistance in purchasing equipment, and <br />WHEREAS, upon the recommendation of the Administration, <br />this Council deems it to be in the best interest o.f the <br />residents of the City of North Olmsted to authorize the Mayor <br />to make application fqr and enter into an agreement with <br />the State of Ohio for a grant for the purpose of acquiring <br />new buses, <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE <br />CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED, COUNTY OF CUYAHOGA AND STATE OF OHIO: <br />Section l: That the Mayor is hereby authorized to make <br />application to the State of Ohio, Department of Transportation, <br />for funds from the Ohio Mass Transportation Capital Assistance <br />Grant for the purchase of new equipment for the Bus Line. <br />Section 2: That the Mayor is hereby authorized to execute <br />a contract with the State of Ohio Department of Transportation <br />for the processing of financial assistance. <br />Section 3: That this resolution is hereby declared to be <br />an emergency measure immediately necessary for the preservation <br />of the public health, safety and welfare, and for the further <br />reason that it is immediately necessary to provide new equipment <br />so as to provide more efficient bus service to the Citizens of <br />North Olmsted, and further provided it receives the affirmative <br />vote of two-thirds of all members elected to Council, it shall <br />take effect and be in force immediately upon its passage and <br />approval by the Mayor. <br />PASSED : ~Ctw., ~.?/T f!? ,~ <br />At t~e s t : ~ `i~~~ <br />L~:I.tt~ <br />Nora T.
