CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />BY: <br />RESOLUTION NO. 76 - l~ <br />A RESOLUTION URGING THE CUYAHOGA COUNTY ENGINEER <br />TO TAKE THE NECESSARY STEPS TO WIDEN CLAGUE ROAD <br />BOTH NORTH AND SOUTH OF LORAIN ROAD IN THE AREA <br />OF SAID INTERSECTION SO AS TO CREATE LEFT TURN <br />LANES, AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY <br />WHEREAS, Clague Road. at the intersection of Lorain Road <br />presently is a congested. area, and. <br />WHEREAS, the traffic congestion is caused in part because <br />cars turning left have a tendency to block through traffic <br />as well as those turning right, and. <br />WHEREAS, it is the desire of this Council to urge the <br />County Engineer to take whatever steps are necessary to <br />alleviate this condition by providing for left turn lanes <br />at the intersection of Lorain Road both north and south of <br />Clague Road. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY <br />OF NORTH OLMSTED, COUNTY OF CUYAHOGA, AND STATE OF OHIO: <br />SECTION l: That this Council does hereby urge the Cuyahoga <br />County Engineer to take immediate steps to alleviate the traffic <br />congestion problem at the intersection of Lorain Road and Clague <br />Road by making provisions for the construction of a left turn <br />lane both north and, south of Lorain Road. <br />SECTION 2: That the Clerk of Council be and she is hereby <br />directed to send a certified copy of this Resolution to the <br />Cuyahoga County Engineer as well as the Office of the County <br />Commissioners of Cuyahoga County. <br />SECTION 3: That this Resolution is hereby declared to be an <br />emergency measure immediately necessary for the preservation of <br />the public health, safety, and welfare, and for the further reason <br />that the intersection of Clague Road and Lorain Road has become <br />extremely congested thereby causing a traffic hazard, and further <br />provided it receives the affirmative vote of two-thirds of all members <br />elected. to Council, it shall take effect and be in force immediately <br />upon its passage and approval by the Mayor. <br />PASSED: ~ ~ G~~~• <br />Pr ident of Council <br />ATTEST: <br />...~ ~~~ <br />C/~ <br />NORA T.
