CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />is <br />to <br />RESOLUTION NO. 74 - ~~ <br />.~, <br />A OLUTION REQUESTING THE HIGHWAY DEPARTMENT <br />OF THE STATE OF OHIO TO RESURFACE STATE ROUTE <br />$p10 FROM THE EASTERN MUNICIPAL BOUNDARY TO THE <br />WESTERN MUNICIPAL BOUNDARY, WITH THE USUAL CITY <br />PARTICIPATION, AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. <br />WHEREAS, the Administration and Council are aware of the <br />deteriorating condition of Lorain Road (State Route.#10), and <br />WHEREAS, the deteriorating condition is in the form of holes, <br />cracking and a breaking up, all of which create a very serious <br />driving hazard capable of causing injury to motorists and pedes- <br />trians alike, and <br />WHEREAS, the only way <br />to resurface Lorain Road <br />the western boundary of y, <br />WHEREAS, the Council and the Administration believe it is in <br />the best interest of the citizens of North Olmsted to make applica- <br />tion to the Department of Highways, State of Ohio, requesting that <br />said department take immediate steps to resurface Lorain Road <br />(State Route #10) in its entire length from the eastern boundary <br />line to the western boundary line. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />NORTH OLMSTED, COUNTY OF CUYAHOGA AND STATE OF OHIO: <br />SECTION l: That the Department of Highways for the State of <br />Ohio is hereby requested to resurface Lorain Road (State Route #10) <br />from the eastern municipal line to the western municipal line and <br />that the City will participate in the cost as has been established <br />by custom. <br />SECTION 2: That the Clerk of Council be and she'is hereby <br />directed to forward a certified copy of this Resolution to the <br />Department of Highways, State of Ohio, 10100 Broadway, Garfield <br />Heights, Ohio. <br />SECTION 3: .That this resolution is hereby declared to be an <br />emergency measure necessary for the immediate preservation of the <br />public peace, health, safety and welfare of the City by virtue of <br />the immediate need for alleviating the hazardous traffic condition <br />that now exists on the aforementioned area of Lorain Road.
