<br />CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />ORDINANCE N0. 74 -..~•~ <br />BY • l.s~~ <br />AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO <br />ENTER INTO AN AGREEMENT WITH FAIRVIEW <br />GENERAL HOSPITAL WITH RESPECT TO THE <br />LIABILITIES OF THE PARTIES IN THE JOINT <br />OPERATT!C3N OF TRANSMISSION OF ELECTRO- <br />CARDIOGRAMS, AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. <br />WHEREAS, the City of North Olmsted has established a cardio- <br />alert emergency force within the North Olmsted Fire Department, and <br />WHEREAS, it is necessary to effectively implement the program <br />of emergency coronary care which requires the cooperation between <br />the City of North Olmsted and Fairview General Hospital, and <br />WHEREAS, it is the desire of the Administration and Council to <br />enter into an agreement with Fairview General Hospital with respect <br />to the cardio-alert emergency force and the transmission of electro- <br />cardiograms to Fairview General Hospital; <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />NORTH OLMSTED, COUNTY OF CUYAHOGA AND STATE OF OHIO: <br />SECTION l: That the Mayor be and he is hereby authorized to <br />enter into a cooperative agreement with Fairview General Hospital, <br />a copy of which is attached hereto and made a part hereof and marked <br />Exhibit "A". <br />SECTION 2: That the Mayor be and he is hereby directed to make <br />application to the insurance carrier handling the insurance policies <br />of the City to include Fairview General Hospital as an additional <br />insured under its insurance protection governing professional liability <br />malpractice insurance. <br />SECTION 3: That this ordinance is hereby declared to be an <br />emergency measure immediately necessary for the preservation of the <br />public health, safety and welfare, and for the further reason it is <br />immediately necessary to protect the lives of all persons who require <br />medical treatment because of heart ailments, heart attacks or other <br />related medical problems, and further provided it receives the affir- <br />mative vote of two-thirds of all members elected to Council, it shall <br />take effect and be in force immediately upon its passage and approval <br />by the Mayor. <br />PASSED : ~~~t..c..te,1 ~/ ~~ ~f <br />ATTEST: ~ <br />iC~ <br />NORA T.
