<br />Present were Paul J. Gareau, Mayor; Bruce MacDonald, President of Council; Henry
<br />Caster, Ralph Christman, Dewey Limpert, A.L. Mangani, Lillian. Nicholas, Francis
<br />J.OtNeill, George Porter.
<br />Also present were Lloyd E. Barnes, Service Director; James T. Wilson, Safety
<br />Director; C. J. Oviatt, Solicitor; Alex Kanareff, D,rbineer; tnTilliam Gerlach,
<br />Finance Director; Louise Hall, Clerk:.
<br />The minutes of the regular meeting of May 3, 1961 were aprro~red as written,
<br />The minutes of the adjourned. meeting, of May 9, 1961 were approved as written.
<br />The m~.nutes of the special meeting of May 10, 1961 were approved as written.
<br />The Mayor read, a communication from The Ohio State Employment Services Bureau
<br />of Unemployment Compensation, relative to the national ":?~i.E NOW'! job drive
<br />beginning May 12,
<br />The Mayor advised of a letter from the Engineer regarding estimate of cost to
<br />perform a study of the adequacy of existing storm sewers in the City and stated
<br />that it was available for all tc rezri_ew.
<br />The Mayor read a communi.~;ation from the Cleveland Chamber of Commerce advising
<br />of a 5 day Lake Cruise for City Officials.
<br />The Ma;,~or recommended that additional legal. help, for which money is available,
<br />be obtained ~n order to expedite the revision of the Zoning Ordinance so that
<br />it can be incorporated ir. the Codifying of the Ordinances.
<br />~rhe Safety Dixectror advised that "AL. SCOUTS DAY't is to be June 101 1961 and
<br />requested that all be in attendance at 8:00 A.M. sharp.
<br />The Service Director reported that the Engineerts estimate of the additional
<br />cost due to the change of elevation on the Claque Road sewer is ~16,t~10.00.
<br />The Clerk read a eoimnunication from the Service Director requesting t~;.at positions
<br />be created and wages established for a Maintenance Mechanic and an Assistar~
<br />Maintenance Mechanic for the Disposal Plant and also requesting appro~=a1 for
<br />the Engineer to make a survey to locate and mark service sanitary setirer li.ne:~ on
<br />Columbia Road., Elm Road., Grace Road! Lucille Ave., and Mastick Road.
<br />The Serv~_ce Directorts request for the positions to be created and w ages establa.shPd
<br />for a Maintenance and Assistant Mai:r_tenance ~iecl~anics zras furred ovor to the
<br />Finance and Sewer Committees.
<br />Residents of Ambour Drive requested a solution to their Arai Wage problem, The
<br />Engineer is to take this matter up with the Building Comrcissioner and try to
<br />rectify the situation.
<br />Reside. is of Revere Drive requested information as to when I.7r. Bauer wil.~.
<br />complete the correction of the violat%ons in their subdivision. Mr. Bauer
<br />stated that he is in comp73.ance ~~rith the Buila~ing Code now, The residents
<br />were advised that an r corrections necessary other than Building Code violations
<br />must be taken car ~~tween the Builder and the residents. Mr. Kershaw,
<br />5510 Revere Drive stated that he paid. a good price for his home and 1 year
<br />later there are s ti 11 1.0 or 11 f aizl_ts th at should not be left by a quality
<br />builder.
<br />Ordinance No. 61~9t~ was introduced by Mr. Chri tmari. An ox•d; na.r~ce r~vthori~ing
<br />the Director of Publ7c Ssrvice to advertise for bids far incinsr~tion of the garbage
<br />and rubbish of this City and for the Director of Pub7.ic Service and the Mayor
<br />to enter into a contrar.t with the lowest and best bidder and. declaring an emergency.
<br />It was moved by Mr. Christman, seconded by Mr. Mangani, that the statutory rule
<br />be s uspended and the ordinance be read immediately the second and third times
<br />and put on its passage« The aff3_xmative vote on sand motion was as follotas:
