MINUTES OF THE SPECIAL MEETING OF THE COUNCIL <br />OF THE CITY OF NORTIi OLMSTED <br />JULY 26, 1983 <br />Present: President James Boehmer, Councilmen Bierma.n, Logan, McKay, <br />Saringer, Wilamosky, Woerpel. <br />Also present: Mayor Robert Swietyniowski, Finance Director Edward Boyle, <br />Clerk of Council Florence Campbell. <br />Absent: Councilwoman Petrigac. <br />Special Meeting of Council was called to order by President Boehmer at 8:00 P.M. <br />Mr. McKay moved Council have no objection to an F2 liquor permit for the Kiwanis <br />Club of North Olmsted, 28271 Lorain Road, for a function date of September 7, <br />1983, second by Mr. Wilamosky, unanimously approved. <br />LEGISLATION: <br />Ordinance No. 83-76 introduced by Mr. McKay, Mrs. Saringer and Mr. Wilamosky was <br />given its third re$ding. An ordinance providing for the submission to ths electors <br />of the City of North Olmsted of a proposed amendment to the Charter of the City of <br />North Olmsted relating to the establishment within the Department of Human Resources, <br />a Division of Aging, and declaring an emergency. Since Mrs. Petrigac was absent, <br />Mr. Woerpel moved Council postpone Ordinance No. 83-76 to a date certain of September <br />6, 1983, so the entire Council could vote on this issue, second by Mr. Bierman. <br />Roll call on motion: Affirmative vote: Bierman, Woerpel. Negative vote: Logan, <br />McKa.y, Saringer, Wilamosky. 2 Aye - 4 Nay - Motion failed. Mr. McKay moved for <br />adoption, second by Mrs. Saringer. Roll call on motion: Affirmative vote: Logan, <br />McKay, Saringer, Wilamosky. Negative vote: Bierman, Waerpel. 4 Aye - 2 Nay - <br />Motion failed; needed two/thirds votes to pass. Ordinance No. 83-76 not adopted. <br />Ordinance No. 83-83 introduced by Mr. Wilamosky was given its third reading. An <br />ordinance providing for the submission to the electors of the City of North Olmsted <br />of a proposed amendment to the Charter of the City of North Olmsted relating to the <br />establishment of Departaient of Budget and Management, and declaring an emergency. <br />Mr. Wilamosky moved for adoption, second by Mrs. Saringer. Roll call on motion: <br />Affirmative vote: Logan, McKay, Saringer, Wilamosky. Negative vote: Bierman, Woerpel. <br />4 Aye - 2 Nay - Motion failed; needed two/thirds votes to pass. Ordinance No. 83-83 <br />not adopted. <br />Mr. Bierman moved to excuse the absence of Mrs. Petrigac, secand by Mr. Woerpel. <br />Roll call on motion: Affirmative vote: Bierman, Logan, Saringer, Wilamosky, Woerpel. <br />Negative vote: McKay. 5 Aye - 1 Nay - Motion carried. <br />There being no further business, President Boehmer adjourned the Special Council <br />Meeting at 8:10 P.M. <br />41 A:jto:z? 6"<7-- ?
