<br />MINUTES OF THE MEETING OF THE COUNCIL <br />OF THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />MARCH 1, 1983 <br />Present: President James Boehmer, Councilmen Bierman, Logan, McRay, Petrigac, <br />Saringer, Wilamosky, Woerpel. <br />Also present: Mayor Rabert Swietyniowski, Law Director Michael Gareau, Finanee <br />Director Edward Boyle, Safety Director Eugene Petre, Service <br />Director Joseph Corrigan, City Engineer Ronald Zurawski, Clerk of <br />Council Florence Campbell. <br />Meeting was called ta order by President Boehmer at 8:05 P.M. <br />Members of the audience were invited to join Members of Council in reciting the <br />Pledge of Allegiance. <br />Minutes of regular Council Meeting of February 15, 1983, were approved. <br />Minutes of special Council Meeting of February 16, 1983, were approved. <br />President Boehmer annouaced that Resolution No. 83-27, advertising for bids for <br />5,000 tons of asphalt, and Resolution No. 83-28, advertising for bids for 2,000 <br />tons of stone, had been added to tonight's agenda. <br />Mayor Swietyniowski reported: 1) Would like to meet with the Interim Committee on <br />the new Administration Complex tomorrow evening at 8 o'clock regarding the Council <br />Chambers; architect will also be present. <br />2) March is Red Cross Month; congratulates the Red Cross volunteers as they begin <br />their 102nd year of service. <br />3) Girl Scouts of America are celebrating their 72nd anniversary on Ma.rch 12th; <br />has proclaimed the week of March 6th through 12th as "Girl Scouting Week". <br />City Engineer Zurawski reported: 1) Plans, specifications and estimates of costs, <br />as well as the grant application for Facility Plan, Step III, were delivered to the <br />Ohio EPA in Columbus last Thursday by Art Messina, Project Engineer for Dalton, <br />Dalton, Newport; Harry Crider, Waste Water Treatment Plant Superintendent; and City <br />Engineer Zurawski. A new fee sehedule, effective November 16, 1981, requires that <br />the City of North Olmsted wi11 have to pay a fee of $5,000 before the Ohio EPA will <br />review the plans and grant application. <br />2) Early in February, Engineering Department submitted to the County Engineer the <br />certification that all necessary right-of-way for the North Olmsted portion of the <br />Dover Center Road Pro3ect is available. Letters of donation and copies of the <br />signed easement documents from the City and School Board were submitted. Would like <br />to thank the Treasurer of the School Board for his cooperation. The activity of <br />the utility companies on Dover Center Road will intensify in the near future. <br />3) Thanked the Great Northern Travel Center and Suburban Travel for the loan of <br />travel posters for use at the National Engineer's Week banquet held last Friday <br />at the Cleveland Engineering and Scientific Center. <br />Finance Director Boyle reported: 1) The $54,000 safety vehiele notes have been sold <br />to McDonald and Company at 6%; Ordinance No. 83-25, on tonight's agenda, appropriates <br />that auount. <br />2) Has been to the County Auditor to correct the amended certificate which had two <br />errors pertaining to the sewer debt service. Anticipates $40,000 to $60,000 <br />additional funds from NOW banking accounts and money market accounts and has <br />written to the County to have this figure corrected. <br />_ -. , #
