x <br />MINUTES OF THE MEETING OF THE COUNCIL <br />OF THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />FEBRUARY 7, 1984 <br />Present: President James Boehmer, Councilmen Bierman, O'Grady, Petrigac, <br />Rademaker, Saringer, Tallon, Wilamosky. <br />Also present: Law Director Michael Gareau, Finance Director Edward Boyle, <br />Safety Director Eugene Petre, Service Director Joseph Corrigan, <br />Director Budget and Management James Logan. Clerk of Council <br />Florence Campbell. <br />Meeting was called to order by President Boehmer at 8:05 P.M. <br />Members of the audience were invited to join Members of Council in reciting the <br />Pledge of Allegiance. <br />Minutes of the regular Council Meeting of January 17, 1984, were approved. <br />Minutes of the special Council Meeting of January 26, 1984, were approved. <br />Mr. Wilamosky voiced objections to his notification of the Special Council Meeting <br />of January 26th; stated such. notification was Improper according to Rule 5 of the <br />Rules of Council; objected to being reported as "absent"; emphasized that he did <br />not challenge the legitimacy of the meeting however. <br />President Boehmer announced that Ordinance No. 82-89, appropriating $52,000 for <br />preliminary engineering to construct a roadway at the Industrial Park and Ordin- <br />ance No. 84-9, maintenance and repair of streets and roads by the Board of County <br />Commissioners, have been added to tonight's agenda. <br />President Boehmer introduced Mrs, Inge Richter, a member of the Community Re- <br />vitalization and Medallion Homes Subcommittee of the Cleveland Area Board of Realtors <br />who presented a medallion award to Mr. William Geisser for the renovation of property <br />at 24963 Lorain Road, <br />In the absence of Mayor Swietyniowski, Service Director Corrigan announced that an <br />Open House would be held at the new City Complex on Sunday, February 26th, between <br />2 and 5 P.M This will include a tour of the new buildings, display of city <br />equipment, distribution of information and an opportunity to meet city officials, <br />department heads, members of Council, etc, Refreshments will be served by the <br />senior citizens, working through the North Olmsted Senior Center. <br />Service Director Corrigan reported: 1) Public ~~orks Commissioner, five other members <br />of the Service Department and Mr. Corrigan attended a seminar, presented by the <br />Ohio Division of the American Public Works Association, relative to maintenance of <br />highways. Main thrust of the program was the importance of preventative maintenance; <br />every dollar spent on preventative maintenance saves up to five or six dollars down <br />the road for rehabilitation and replacement. <br />President Boehmer commended Service Director and the entire Service Department for <br />the competent handling of snow removal_ in the last few weeks. <br /> <br /> <br />
