e <br />., <br />MINUTES OF THE MEETING OF THE COUNCIL <br />OF THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />JANUARY 3, 1984 <br />Present: President James Boehmer, Councilmen Bierman, O'Grady, Petrigac, <br />Rademaker, Saringer, (Councilman Tallon sworn in after roll call) <br />Also present: Mayor Robert Swietyniowski, Law Director Michael Gareau, Finance <br />Director Edward Boyle, Safety Director Eugene Petre, Clerk of <br />Council Florence Campbell. <br />Absent: Councilman Wilamosky. (Mr. Wilamosky present at 8:15 P.M.) <br />Meeting was called to order by President Boehmer at 8:10 P.M. <br />Members of the audience were invited to join Members of Council in reciting the <br />Pledge of Allegiance. <br />Minutes of the regular Council Meeting of December 20, 1983, were approved. <br />Minutes of the special Council Meeting of December 26, 1983, were approved. <br />Minutes of the special Council Meeting of December 27, 1983, were approved. <br />President Boehmer announced that Ordinance No. 83-151, temporary disconnection of <br />roof downspouts from the main sewer and splash down of roof water directly upon <br />the ground, had been removed from the agenda. Also, Councilwoman Saringer had <br />been sworn into office on December 31, 1983. <br />Mayor Swietyniowski administered the oath of office to Council-at-Large Petrigac <br />and Rademaker who then took their seats at the Council table. <br />Mr. Bierman moved Council amend the agenda for consideration of the Clerk of <br />Council"s salary, second by Mrs. Petrigac, unanimously approved. <br />Mr. Bierman moved the Clerk of Council be given a 6-1/2% wage increase and requested <br />the amending of the temporary appropriation to reflect $3,420 for the Clerk of Council, <br />second by Mrs. Petrigac. Mrs, Saringer stated that since she had been off Council <br />for the past month, she would like to be brought up to date before voting on this <br />issue. Mr. Bierman asked President Boehmer if he had received any written responses <br />to his letter of October 6, 1983, asking if there were any objections to a wage in- <br />crease for the Clerk of Council. President Boehmer replied that he had verbal <br />objections from two Council Members but nothing in writing. Mrs. Petrigac called for <br />the question. Roll call on Mr. Bierman's motion: Affirmative vote: Bierman, O'Grady, <br />Petrigac, Rademaker. Negative vote: Saringer, Wilamosky. 4 Aye - 2 Nay - Motion <br />carried. <br />Mr. Bierman moved Council adjourn .for an executive session. There was no seconds <br />Mrs. Petrigac moved Council amend the agenda to allow for the appointment to fill <br />the Ward 1 vacancy, second by Mrs. Saringer, unanimously approved. <br />Mrs. Petrigac nominated Mr. Dwayne Woerpel to fill the Ward 1 vacancy and presented <br />petitions for "'.r. Woerpel's appointment, signed by over two hundred Taard 1 registered <br />voters. <br /> <br />
