MINUTES OF THE MEETING OF THE COUNCIL <br />OF THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />MAY 19, 1987 <br />Present: President Janet Saringer, Councilmen Bohlmann, Lackey, O'Grady, <br />Rademaker, Tallon, Wilamosky. <br />Also. present: Mayor Yvonne Petrigac, Law Director Michael Gareau, Finance <br />Director Edward Boyle, Clerk of Council Florence Campbell. <br />Absent: Councilman McKay. <br />Meeting was called to order by President Saringer at 8:00 P.M., in Council <br />Chambers, 5200 Dover Center Road. <br />Members of the audience were invited. to join Members of Council in reciting <br />the Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag. <br />Minutes of Council Meeting of May 6, 1987, were approved. <br />Mr. Wilamosky moved to amend the agenda to provide an opportunity for council <br />to meet with their counterparts, the Honorary Officials for the scouting week- <br />end, second by Mr. O'Grady, unanimously approved. <br />Karen Novak, Co-Chairman of the All Scouts' Day Committee introduced the <br />following scouts: Honorary Mayor - Mark Principe, Troop 53; President of <br />Council - Lawrence Franke, Troop 204; Ward 1 Councilman - Hope Kross, Troop 9; <br />Ward 2 Councilman - Mark Miller, Troop 204; Ward 3 Councilman - Chris Ries, <br />Troop 1067; Ward 4 Councilman - Robert Horn, Troop 630; Council-at-Large - <br />Jeff Khol, Troop 53; Council-at-Large - Heidi Malchus, Troop 1067; Council- <br />at-Large -William Capper, Troop 204. Mrs. Novak also announced that Honorary <br />Law Director - Fred Hagemeister, Troop 6.64 and Honorary Finance Director - <br />Mike Zika, Troop 664 were unable to be in attendance this evening. Council <br />and members of the audience recognized the Honorary Officials. <br />Mayor Petrigac reported: 1) Council has received a memo in regard to a meeting <br />being held May 27th with some of the commission members. <br />2) North Olmsted Memorial Day activities will begin with a flag raising at <br />8 A.M.; flags will be placed at Coe and Butternut Cemeteries. Parade will pro- <br />ceed from City Hall to North Olmsted Park at 9:30 A.M. Ceremony at the park <br />will begin at 10 A.M. with the VFW, Post. 7647, again in charge of the observance. <br />3) Will be setting up a meeting with Cleveland in regard to the Cook Road water line. <br />4} Has given Councilman Bohlmann a list of proposed changes in fees and permits <br />for the Building Department. Would like to meet with committee before requesting <br />legislation. <br />5) Proclamation was presented to the Senior Citizens of North Olmsted recognizing <br />their contribution to the enrichment of the city. May is Senior Citizens' Month; <br />it is also Exceptional Childress` Month; the week of May 18th is Kids Say "NO" Week. <br />6) Mayor's tax proposal was presented at a Council-as-a Whole Committee Meeting <br />last night; both Mayor and Mr. Cunningham are available for further discussion. <br />7) Agreement between the American Federation of State, County and Municipal <br />Employees, Local 2681, and the dispatchers, was signed this afternoon by all parties. <br />x.w.uw: -. ~. ~ -, 0.®'fu`.wm~n=kr_. ~r.:~:iFr~S/, ...,.h..,. .. <br />
