<br />MINUTES OF THE MEETING OF THE COUNCIL
<br />OF THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED
<br />OCTOBER 17, 1989
<br />Present: President Pro Tem Dean McKay, Councilmen Boehmer, Bohlmann,
<br />O'Grady, Tallon, Wilamosky.
<br />Also present: Mayor Yvonne Petrigac, Law Director Michael Gareau, Finance
<br />Director Edward Boyle, Clerk of Council Florence Campbell.
<br />Absent: President Saringer and Councilwoman Bahas.
<br />Meeting was called to order by President Pro Tem McKay at 8:00 P.M., in Council
<br />Chambers, 5200 Dover Center Road, North Olmsted.
<br />President Pro Tem Mci~ay invited members of .the audience to join members of
<br />council in reciting the Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag.
<br />Minutes of the Council Meeting of October 3, 1989, were approved.
<br />President Pro Tem McKay announced: 1) The next regular Council Meeting will
<br />be held on November 8th due to the November 7th election.
<br />2) The Planning Review Committee Meeting, scheduled for tomorrow evening, has
<br />been cancelled because of "Candidates' Night".
<br />3) Ordinance Nos. 89-84 and 89-85 have been added to this evening's agenda;
<br />suspension of rule requiring three readings will be requested on Ordinance
<br />No. 89-82.
<br />Mayor Petrigac reported: 1) On October 5th, Chief Marsh and Mayor attended a
<br />Pedestrian Award Program; City of North Olmsted again received the award for
<br />no pedestrian fatalities.
<br />2) Administration has accepted the bid for hydro-brakes, from United Survey,
<br />in the amount of $73,189.
<br />3) Director of Human Resources and Mayor had a closed meeting with all in-
<br />terested parties involved in the Cook Road Project; all is well and moving
<br />along as expected.
<br />4) Service Director, Law Director and Mayor met with Mayor Gaul of Fairview
<br />Park regarding the Fairview agreement; to expedite things, city will use the
<br />Olmsted Township agreement as a base; this has been given to Fairview.
<br />5) Meeting was held last night with Recreation Commission Members, Councilmen
<br />Wilamosky, Tallon, McKay and Bohlmann, Safety Director, Rec Complex Manager
<br />and architect, van Dijk, to review the concepts. Recreation Committee of
<br />Council will be scheduling a meeting to express their opinion and keep the
<br />project moving.
<br />6) Service Director and Mayor met with William J. Canary, Special Assistant to
<br />President Bush for Inter-governmental Affairs; object of the meeting was to
<br />try to get some assistance in a regional storm. sewer district. Following this
<br />meeting, met with Congressman Feighan and gave him Mr. Canary's card since Mr.
<br />Canary is very willing to work with Congressman Feighan.
<br />7) Thursday, Law Director, Service Director and representative from Squire,
<br />Sanders and Dempsey will be meeting with the EPA in Columbus to discuss the
<br />problem regarding sanitary sewer trap tie-ins; feels optimistic that this will
<br />be taken care of.
