.~ <br />MINUTES OF THE MEETING OF THE COUNCIL <br />OF THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />MARCH 7, 1989 <br />Present: President Janet Saringer, Councilwoman Bahas, Councilmen <br />Boehmer, Bohlmann, McKay, O'Grady, Tallon, Wilamosky. <br />Also present: Mayor Yvonne Petrigac, Law Director Michael Gareau, Finance <br />Director Edward Boyle, Clerk of Council Florence Campbell, <br />Meeting was called to order by President Saringer at 8:00 P.M „ in Council <br />Chambers, 5200 Dover Center Road, North Olmsted, Ohio. <br />Members of the audience were invited to join Members of Council in reciting <br />the Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag, <br />Minutes of regular Council Meeting of February 21, 1989, were approved. <br />Minutes of special Council Meeting of March 2, 1989, were approved. <br />President Saringer announced: 1) The following four pieces of legislation <br />have been added to the agenda, on third reading: Ordinance No, 88-66, amend- <br />ing the Zoning Code of the City of North Olmsted by changing premises from <br />Single Residence A District to Mixed Use A D istrict; Ordinance No. 88-33, <br />adopting a new Chapter 1331 of the Codified Ordinances entitled, "Dangerous <br />and Unsafe Buildings"; Ordinance No. 88-81, amending the Zoning Code of <br />the City of North Olmsted by changing premises from Single Residence B <br />District to General Retail Business District; and Ordinance No. 88-84, <br />adopting a new Chapter 1149 of the Zoning Code entitled, "Mixed Use District". <br />2) Council will be asking for suspension of rule requiring three readings on <br />Ordinance Nos. 89-17 and 89-19, <br />Mayor Petrigac reported: 1) The I480/Great Northern Interchange is on the <br />1989 Project List from NOACA. <br />2) Thanked the members of council who attended the First Annual Employee <br />Recognition Day dinner. <br />3) Three year contract for the Police Department was signed on February 24th. <br />4) Board of Control met on February 28th. There was only one bid for an air <br />handler received because the performance bond requirement was too high for <br />most companies; the bid received was rejected; the item will be rebid with a <br />lower performance bond. <br />5) Meeting was held with CEI regarding the substation to be built at the west <br />end of town. Schools will realize approximately $38,386,12 and city will <br />realize approximately $9,043. <br />6) University Heights Law Director Wolk has written the USEPA a letter which <br />questions the holding of municipalities absolutely liable for the disposal <br />of rubbish on state approved landfills for the past twenty years or more. <br />Will keep council posted as this progresses. <br />7) Attended a dinner honoring Patrolman Ron Cox for his outstanding record <br />dealing with auto theft arrests. <br />8) North Olmsted Hockey Team has become state champions. The West Shore <br />Figure Skating Club will be hosting the 1989 CIC Precision Competition at <br />the Rec Complex on Sunday, March 12th, from 1 to 5 P.M. <br />
