r
MINUTES OF THE MEETING OF THE COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED
AUGUST 20, 1996
Present: Council President Pro Tem Musial, Council Members Limpert, Lind,
McKay, Nashar, O'Grady, Saringer
Also Present: Mayor Boyle, Law Director Gareau, Finance Director Burns, Clerk of
Council Seman
Absent: Council President Boehmer
Council President Pro Tem Musial called the meeting to order at 8:10 p.m. in Council
Chamber, 5200 Dover Center Road, North Olmsted, Ohio.
Members of the audience were invited to join Council in reciting the Pledge of Allegiance
to the Flag.
Mrs. Saringer moved to approve the minutes of the Council meeting of July 2, 1996;
second by Mr. Nashar; motion passed unanimously.
Mr. O'Grady moved to approve the minutes of the Council meeting of July 22, 1996;
second by Mr. Lind; motion passed unanimously.
REPORTS
Mayor Boyle: 1) Received a letter from Cuyahoga County Engineer Neff in which he
informs the city that he is awaiting directions from North Olmsted concerning the Clague
Road project. Mr. Neff stated that the county has paid the city's portion of engineering
services to date and has on hold all other funding sources. The county nets' to know
how to proceed so that it can plan this project or move on to other projects, which may or
may not be within the City of North Olmsted. Mr. Neff has given the city a time limit of
January 2, 1997 to inform the county of its decision regarding Clague Road. If he does
not receive word by that date, the county will bill North Olmsted for the city's portion of
the engineering services.
2) NOMBL assisted RTA during the Cleveland bicentennial weekend by transporting over
2,000 additional passengers to and from downtown.
3) It has been the city's practice to notify all North Olmsted residents who appear on the
State's unclaimed funds register. This year, because of incorrect addresses supplied by the
State Treasurer's office, better than 70% of the letters were returned. Because the postage
expense was approximately $300, the city will no longer provide this service since the
names are published in the Plain Dealer. Any resident having a question or requesting
assistance from the city will be helped.
