MINUTES OF THE MEETING OF THE COUNCIL <br />_,~. <br />,,R,; OF THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />JITLY 2, 1996 <br />Present: Council President Boehmer, Council Members Limpert, McKay, Musial, <br />Nashar, O'Grady, Saringer <br />Also Present: Mayor Boyle, Law Director Gareau, Finance Director Burns, Clerk of <br />Council Seman <br />Absent: Council Member Lind <br />Council President Boehmer called the meeting to order at 8 p.m. in Council Chambers, <br />5200 Dover Center Road, North Olmsted, Ohio. <br />Members of the audience were invited to join Council in reciting the Pledge of Allegiance <br />to the Flag. <br />President Boehmer made the following announcements: 1) City Council will meet with <br />representatives from the County Engineer's office at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, July 9, to discuss <br />the proposed widening of south Claque Road. <br />2) City Council will be on vacation for the last two weeks of July and the first two weeks <br />of August. <br />3) Ordinance No. 96-116 will be added to the agenda. <br />Mr. O'Grady moved to approve the Council minutes of June 18, 1996; second by Mr. <br />Limpert; motion passed unanimously. <br />REPORTS <br />Mayor Boyle: 1) The Ohio Energy Credit Program is still in existence and residents who <br />meet the criteria can apply through the Ohio Department of Taxation. Residents must <br />meet the following criteria: 65 years of age or permanently and totally disabled; individual <br />or spouse must be the head of the household; annual income cannot exceed $9,000. <br />Applications are available at the Senior Center or by contacting the Department of <br />Taxation in Columbus, 1-800-282-4310. <br />2) The Fourth of July celebration will feature the annual children's bicycle decorating <br />contest, a bicycle parade to the park and a picnic with free hot dogs and soft drinks. <br />3) A developer has proposed purchasing all the homes on Bailey and Fleharty for the <br />purpose of rezoning the property to retail. The developer sent a letter to the area <br />residents stating that a plan had been "presented" to the city. Although the developer did <br />"show" the administration a very preliminary plan, it was not presented to the city and is <br />'°° not in the city's possession.
