MINUTES OF THE MEETING OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED MAY 5, 1999 Present: Council President Saringer, Council Members Gareau, Kasler, Limpert, McKay, Miller, Nashar Also Present: Mayor Musial, Law Director Gareau, Finance Director Copfer, Clerk of Council Seman Absent: Council Member O'Grady Council President Saringer called the meeting to order at 5:03 p.m. in Council Chambers, 5200 Dover Center Road, North Olmsted, Ohio. Members of the audience were invited to join Council in reciting the Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag. Mrs. Saringer announced that Ordinance 99-54 was being removed from the agenda and referred back to the Legislative Committee. REPORTS Mayor Musial: 1) Introduced members of the Springvale staff: • Marty Young, Facilities Operations Manager and Clubhouse Golf Supervisor. Marty is a 1984 graduate of Ohio State University with an Associate of Applied Science Degree in Turfgrass Management and is a graduate of the National Institute of Golf Management. His previous experience includes the position of Assistant Superintendent at Hilltop Golf Course, Coshocton, Ohio, Superintendent of the Elms Golf and Country Club in Massillon, Ohio and mostly recently the Superintendent/General Manager of the Legends Golf Course in Massillon, Ohio. • Mark Wallace, Course Maintenance Supervisor. Mark is a graduate of Michigan State University Turfgrass Management Program winning the Kenyon Payne Award for top honors in this program. Mark is also a graduate of Concordia University with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Education. His previous experience includes serving as an intern at Walnut Hills Country Club in East Lansing, Michigan, Assistant Superintendent at the Fox Valley Club in Lancaster, New York and most recently the Superintendent of the Minebrook Golf Club in Hackettstown, New Jersey. • Jerry Ludvik, has been the Golf Pro at Springvale for the past four years. Prior to his work at Springvale, Jerry was the head pro at Briardale Green Golf Course in Euclid, Ohio and was the head teaching professional at Chardon Lakes Country Club and golf pro at Sportshaven in Newbury, Ohio. Jerry has won numerous tournaments as an amateur and a pro, including the Pro-Pro at Astorhurst, the Tigertown Open, the Canton Open and the Akron Open.
