MINUTES OF THE MEETING OF THE COUNCIL <br />OF THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />MONDAY, DECEMBER 3, 2001 <br />Present: Council President Saringer, Council Members Dailey, Kasler, Limpert, <br />McKay, Miller, Nashar, O'Grady <br />Also Present: Mayor Musial, Law Director Gareau, Finance Director Copfer (took her <br />seat at 8:14 p.m.), Clerk of Council Seman <br />Council President Saringer called the meeting to order at 8:04 p.m. in Council Chambers, <br />5200 Dover Center Road, North Olmsted, Ohio. <br />Members of the audience were invited to join Council in reciting the Pledge of <br />Allegiance to the Flag. <br />President Saringer made the following announcements: <br />• Ordinance Nos. 2001-146, 2001-152, 2001-153, 200-154, 2001-155 and 2001-156 <br />would be passed under suspension of the rule <br />• A number of ordinances are on the agenda for tabling. At the end of each year, <br />Council makes an effort to clear up legislation that may have been on hold for some <br />time. <br />The minutes of the Council meeting of November 20, 2001 were approved as written. <br />REP RTS <br />Mayor Musial: 1) The North Olmsted VFW post held a recognition ceremony on <br />November 28 to honor the outstanding firefighter and outstanding police officer for the <br />year. Two police officers were selected as police officers of the year: Officer Chuck <br />Holly and Detective James Yost. The firefighter of the year was Ron Sermak. They are <br />three fine gentlemen who very nicely represented the safety forces. <br />2) The annual Christmas tree lighting ceremony was held on November 29. Santa Claus <br />amved in a flurry of flashing lights via a police car, and he was well received by the <br />young boys and girls. Refreshments were served inside the City Hall lobby. <br />Law Director Gareau: 1) As reported in caucus, Ordinance 2001-152 declares the intent <br />of the city to file eminent domain proceedings against five pieces of property for the <br />Claque Road widening project. <br />2) Ordinances 2001-153, 2001-154 and 2001-155 authorize the purchase of those parcels <br />of property which were the subject matter of Ordinance 2001-112, the resolution <br />authorizing the Mayor to submit for financial assistance from State Issue 2 money for <br />infrastructure improvements. <br />
