MINUTES OF THE MEETING OF THE COUNCIL <br />OF THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />DECEMBER 21, 2004 <br />Present: President of Council O'Grady, Council Members Dailey, Gareau, Kasler, <br />Limpert, McKay, Miller, Nashar <br />Also Present: Mayor Musial, Law Director Dubelko, Finance Director Copfer, Clerk of <br />Council Seman <br />President O'Grady called the meeting to order at 8:10 p.m. in Council Chambers, 5200 <br />Dover Center Road, North Olmsted, Ohio. <br />Members of the audience were invited to join Council in the recitation of the Pledge of <br />Allegiance. <br />President O'Grady recognized Marty Gelfand who was in attendance to represent <br />Congressman Kucinich. <br />On behalf of the entire Council, President O'Grady wished everyone Happy Holidays. <br />The minutes of the Council meeting of December 7, 2004 were approved as written. <br />President O'Grady announced the following legislation would be considered for passage <br />under suspension of the rules: second reading, Ordinances 2004-164, 2004-183, 2004- <br />184, 2004-186, 2004-187, 2004-194 and Resolution 2004-179; first Reading, Ordinance <br />2004-196, Resolutions 2004-201, 2004-205 and 2004-206. <br />REPORTS <br />Mayor Musial: 1) On behalf of the administration, he wished everyone a Merry <br />Christmas and a Happy New Year. <br />2) A letter was received from the Ohio Dept. of Transportation with regards to the <br />resurfacing of State Route 252. There have been continuous noise problems in that area <br />because transverse grooves were cut into the street which cause tires to whine when <br />passing over the grooves. ODOT will take care of the noise problem by putting down an <br />asphalt coating and will also correct some other defects in that road. Total project cost is <br />about $1 million, and the city's share is about $62,000. <br />3) The Lorain Road resurfacing Part II which will go to the east corporation line is set to <br />be designed and administered in calendar year 2006. The proposal price is now about <br />$1.3 million. The state would provide roughly 80%, or $1,040,000, and the city would <br />provide the remaining 20% plus 100% of the cost of the curb ramps. <br />3.) This morning he and Congressman Kucinich participated in making remarks to the <br />`:~ TA Board of Trustees indicating their opposition to the take-over of NOMBL by the <br />
