Far more important than winning or losing is the quality
with which you conduct yourself during what is always a trying time. Thanks to the
persons in the community who chose to support his candidacy. It is a mandate, and we
will move the city forward. Sincere congratulations to all who won elective office in
North Olmsted, and he looks forward to working with everyone in coming years.
2) The Veterans Day ceremony was a great success. The Veterans of Foreign Wars,
American Legion, and Royal Canadian Legion were present and handled the presentation
of colors. The North Olmsted High School marching band was great, and the presence of
our middle school students made the afternoon a special pleasure. Special thanks to his
secretary, Annie Kilbane, and our Service Department for the outstanding preparation of
this ceremony. Our Service Department employees are our unsung heroes in this city.
They're the ones in the ditches; they're the ones behind the plows; they're the ones who
help us put together ceremonies like this one.
3) A matter of great importance for all of us is NOPEC. Yesterday morning he attended a
meeting with mayors and managers from the Cuyahoga County area and directors of the
Northeast Ohio Public Energy Council (NOPEC). Currently, there is great turmoil in the
utility field, especially with Green Mountain Energy (GME) threatening to leave our
market. The good news for our constituents, who are part of this aggregation program, is
