MINUTES OF THE MEETING OF THE COUNCIL <br />OF THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />AUGUST 16, 2005 <br />Present: President of Council Kennedy, Council Members Barker, Gareau, <br />McKay, Miller, Nashar, Ryan <br />Also Present: Mayor O'Grady, Law Director Dubelko, Finance Director Copfer, Clerk of <br />Council Seman <br />Absent: Council Member Talton <br />President Kennedy called the meeting to order at 8:10 p.m. in Council Chambers, 5200 Dover <br />Center Road, North Olmsted, Ohio. <br />Members of the audience were invited to join Council in the recitation of the Pledge of <br />Allegiance as led by Eagle Scout Daniel Griffin. <br />The minutes of the Council meeting of August 2, 2005 were approved as written. <br />President Kennedy announced the following legislation would be considered for passage under <br />suspension of the rules: second reading, Resolutions 2005-102, 2005-103, 2005-10$; first <br />reading, Resolutions 2005-122, 2005-123, 2005-124, 2005-125, 2005-126. <br />Council President Kennedy paid tribute to Ward IV Councilman Dean McKay on the occasion of <br />his last regular Council meeting before his retirement on August 31. Mr. McKay was recognized <br />for his 23 years of service to the community. He will be missed by North Olmsted residents, <br />members of Council and members of the administration. Everyone in attendance stood with <br />members of Council and the administration in recognition of Councilman McKay. Mr. McKay <br />expressed his thanks to all and recognized former Council President Dewey Limpert who was in <br />attendance at Mr. McKay's first Council meeting and this evening at his last meeting. <br />SPECIAL LEGISLATION <br />Resolution No. 2005-122 was introduced and placed on first reading by Mayor O'Grady on <br />behalf of himself and all members of Council. A resolution commending the achievement by <br />Daniel Albert Griffin of the Eagle Scout Award in Boy Scouting. Councilman Nashar moved for <br />suspension of the rules requiring three readings and formal committee review. The motion was <br />seconded by Councilman Gareau and passed unanimously. Councilman Nashar moved for <br />adoption. The motion was seconded by Councilman Gareau and passed unanimously. <br />Resolution No. 2005-122 adopted. Eagle Scout Daniel Griffin was invited to come forward, and <br />the resolution was read in its entirety. Daniel was congratulated by members of City Council <br />and the administration and was recognized by all present. <br /> <br />
