MINUTES OF THE MEETING OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED JITNE 21, 2005 Present: President of Council Kennedy, Council Members Barker, Gareau, McKay, Miller, Nashar, Ryan, Tallon Also Present: Mayor O'Grady, Law Director Dubelko, Finance Director Copfer, Clerk of Council Seman President Kennedy called the meeting to order at 8:03 p.m. in Council Chambers, 5200 Dover Center Road, North Olmsted, Ohio. Members of the audience were invited to join Council in the recitation of the Pledge of Allegiance. The minutes of the Council meeting of June 7, 2005 were approved as written. President Kennedy announced the following legislation would be considered for passage under suspension of the rules: second reading, Ordinance 2005-89; first reading, Ordinances 2005-94, 2005-96 and Resolutions 2005-97, 2005-98. Mayor O'Grady presented proclamations to resident Michael Violi and his daughter Angela Violi in recognition of their accomplishments in martial arts. On November 13, 2004, Michael was inducted into the 2004 USA International Black Belt Hall of Fame for outstanding achievement. On November 13, 2004, Angela was inducted into the USA International Youth Black Belt Hall of Fame as female weapons competitor of the year. Michael and Angela expressed their thanks to the city, especially for the sponsorship and support of the karate program at the Recreation Center. REPORTS Mayor O'Grady: 1) During the week of June 6, he attended a ceremony hosted by the Cleveland Clinic West, where they recognized those persons who had contributed greatly to the Clinic, and to the western greater Cleveland area. Mayor Eileen Patton of Fairview Park was one of those recognized. He attended a Mayors & Managers Association meeting where Local Government Funds were again the focus. He attended the American Cancer Society Relay for Life in Westlake, and the All Scouts Weekend at North Olmsted Park. 2) During the week of June 13, he spoke at and presented a Proclamation at the U. S. Army Birthday Ceremony on Public Square. He attended the Change of Command ceremony for the NE Ohio Recruiting Battalion. He met with COG mayors to interview supervisor candidates for the Central Dispatch Center. He attended the anniversary ceremony for the American Red Cross at their headquarters downtown.
