<br />MINUTES OF THE MEETING OF THE COUNCIL <br />OF THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />JITNE 21, 2005 <br />Present: President of Council Kennedy, Council Members Barker, Gareau, <br />McKay, Miller, Nashar, Ryan, Tallon <br />Also Present: Mayor O'Grady, Law Director Dubelko, Finance Director Copfer, Clerk of <br />Council Seman <br />President Kennedy called the meeting to order at 8:03 p.m. in Council Chambers, 5200 <br />Dover Center Road, North Olmsted, Ohio. <br />Members of the audience were invited to join Council in the recitation of the Pledge of <br />Allegiance. <br />The minutes of the Council meeting of June 7, 2005 were approved as written. <br />President Kennedy announced the following legislation would be considered for passage <br />under suspension of the rules: second reading, Ordinance 2005-89; first reading, <br />Ordinances 2005-94, 2005-96 and Resolutions 2005-97, 2005-98. <br />Mayor O'Grady presented proclamations to resident Michael Violi and his daughter <br />Angela Violi in recognition of their accomplishments in martial arts. On November 13, <br />2004, Michael was inducted into the 2004 USA International Black Belt Hall of Fame for <br />outstanding achievement. On November 13, 2004, Angela was inducted into the USA <br />International Youth Black Belt Hall of Fame as female weapons competitor of the year. <br />Michael and Angela expressed their thanks to the city, especially for the sponsorship and <br />support of the karate program at the Recreation Center. <br />REPORTS <br />Mayor O'Grady: 1) During the week of June 6, he attended a ceremony hosted by the <br />Cleveland Clinic West, where they recognized those persons who had contributed greatly <br />to the Clinic, and to the western greater Cleveland area. Mayor Eileen Patton of Fairview <br />Park was one of those recognized. He attended a Mayors & Managers Association <br />meeting where Local Government Funds were again the focus. He attended the <br />American Cancer Society Relay for Life in Westlake, and the All Scouts Weekend at <br />North Olmsted Park. <br />2) During the week of June 13, he spoke at and presented a Proclamation at the U. S. <br />Army Birthday Ceremony on Public Square. He attended the Change of Command <br />ceremony for the NE Ohio Recruiting Battalion. He met with COG mayors to interview <br />supervisor candidates for the Central Dispatch Center. He attended the anniversary <br />ceremony for the American Red Cross at their headquarters downtown.
