Present were the
Personnel Director and two Network Administrators. The cost for computer related
purchases was reduced from the original requested $103,000 to $79,555. The police
portion of computers has already been purchased and paid for and the fire department
had no requests in this azea. This amount then covered city-wide computer expenses.
After some further reductions in this azea, the short term borrowing related to
computers is now $118,755.
Next the committee discussed remaining issues in Recreation with $5,000 being
placed in the fund for examination of possible locations for outside tennis courts.
After resident and tennis advocate Linda Powell expressed her concern regarding the
$88,000 that was originally designated for courts in North Olmsted Park, and the fact
that, when a ground quality problem occurred, the money was used for improvements
elsewhere in the pazk, and the court idea seemed abandoned. After much discussion,
the $5,000 remained in the fund to pursue some location for future outdoor courts.
Suggestions included the rear of the Recreation facility and Springvale Golf Course.
• A discussion regarding the expenses at the WWTP. After significant analyzing by
Service Director Driscoll and the employees at the plant, a lengthy report was
prepared and the total expenses at the plant were reduced this year by $87,074.
